thank you for this. I've felt stuck with my art for such a long time, your guides help me regain hope.

Thank you Tyler for sharing this guide! I just came back drawing recently. At first I though I had a plan which area to improve my skills but I got distracted during holidays plus the terrible news happen in LA(worrying my friends), I lost focus. Specially when I grinding too much, I got burn out and worse. Know your limits, find where to improve and learn effectively. I had plans for improving drawing in 2025 but after a week I felt unorganized and need to change efficacy. This video is a huge appreciation to reminds me. Even drawing becomes as my hobby nowadays, it is still a huge help.

I recently did a mentorship where we were pushed to work on a piece for a few weeks. I think my piece took me about 60-100 hours ( I sadly didn't wrote down the overall time even though it would have been beneficial to me, too ^^°)and even though there are still smaller arreas I could render to death it turned out so much better due to early stage planning and taking my time with this thing. I want to do more longer pieces this year and hope that I can push them to a professional level. Before, I never thought that "taking my time" and "using+searching for refs over and over" was the main thing that hold me back, not my painting or fundamentals...

Great video, thank you for the resource! Would you be able to provide a list of exercises that apply to each of the fundamentals as you did for color and light in the video? For example, how to improve our perspective, form, etc.

For some reason all of this reminds me of the ArtWod program. I just watched a video with you and Antonio on that program a few days ago. You were talking about concept art on there.

You are God-sent Tyler! Just got laid off at 33 and now pursuing illustration, what I really want coz life is too short to work another soul-sucking thankless job. I have just been agonizing over how to put things into order these past few nights and then boom! You drop this gem! Hope this year brings in more blessings for you and everyone you love. Cheers from the Philippines!

Thank you for the video! I do have a question on advice for getting back into things after recovering from burnout? I'm trying to work my way into having a good workflow again but I'm really out of practice compared to when I was in school. Do you have any advice on building back up to devoting longer periods of time to get to that point of consistency?

Would this video be useful for someone who just wants to learn to get good at digital painting as a hobby only? no interest in doing it professionally? would that mean the next 2 videos won't be as useful in that case?

Im nearly 40, live in a smaller country, not making money dealing with a lifetime of mental illness. With AI stuff taking entry level jobs already it feels like a lost cause for someone in my situation.

Never, if u love it, then nothing can stop you, no matter if you make money or not from it, if u want it, go get it, whether it's a hobby or a job. People still want art from others no matter what
