Ultimate Guide to Anbernic RG35XX-H Pro: Hall Effect Joysticks

35XX-H Pro: included GuliKit Hall Effect joysticks, Sakura PS Face Buttons, CloudLife DPad/S&S and a little Batocera for brains (kinda crazy brains but brains non the less). This was a fun little project I wanted to share that will hopefully help anyone looking to do something simlar.

I loved your video and wanted to ask for a tip, my anbernic came with a problem, the dpad down is failing, what can I do? could you give me a tip

If it’s new contact Anbernic or the seller you purchased it from to get it replaced. If it’s a membrain problem could just swap that out. If it’s a problem with the PCB depending on your skill level solid ring it could be fixed but you are better off replacing the handheld

Which boot image did you use for Batocera? I've seen Ambernic models listed but can't see which are similar to rg35xx h.

It’s actually not bad in comparison to other handhelds I’ve had. I normally stay away from black for that reason.

Any advice on where to get replacement stickers for the hall sticks? The ones that prevent light bleed?

The original analog sticks have cardinal snapping, does that change with the Hall Effect Joysticks?

They seem to be much better. I need to go through and see if I can adjust them yet. Hopefully it won’t be like my Odin Pro I had to use magnets to adjust them. So far they work great so doesn’t seem to be the case

@@CellPhish I bought the Hall Effect Sticks and modified my rg35xx h and it works great, thank you very much. Now it is a rg35xxh-Pro

@@ROFLMAOwithExtraCheese They still do have, but the range of of the sticks is better, u will be able to tell the difference between original and hall effect sticks

I can't get anuff of the look of the ps buttons but don't really think I'll be savie anuff to do this with out messing up some were 😅... How much do you think it would cost rufley for a shop to do this for me if I bought all the parts I wanted on my clear purple one

I have no idea. But if you are just doing the buttons you can probably leave the sticks in, I haven’t tried yet but works on most handhelds. If you take your time the buttons aren’t too terrible to do

Does the HOF joysticks add smaller deadzones to the sticks or do they still only register and input once all the way pressed to one direction?

They have smaller dead zones. Some who don’t like hall sticks complain about how sensitive they are. I’ve never had that problem

This one’s pretty straight forward compared to some others. But always work w/in your comfort level

Is there a membrane replacement kit for the h model? The ones that come with the device in my opinion are way to hard to press on and after a few minutes of playing it hurts my thumb. I’ve been playing it for a couple of months now and it’s still the same.

I’m sure it would be a matter of funding some you like. When I’ve replaced membranes in the past I’ve ordered a few for fit and co fort and used the ones that worked. You aren’t typically with these devices going to find a kit specific to any one device

Unfortunately, there is no point in replacing it. Both mechanical sticks and sticks with a Hall sensor work equally poorly. Large dead zone and jumps.

I haven’t really had any issues with the halls. The best thing with halls is any fsp’s because it increases point to point

@@CellPhish This is how sticks with a Hall sensor work and the same way that stock mechanical ones work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/goCllIN8fN2Apqs Only 8 directions and a dead zone. This is a problem/limitation on the hardware side of the console and Anbernik confirms this. ((

I don’t think it gets warm enough to warrant a heatsink but to be fair I hadn’t even thought of that. I’ve got so much extra stuff from this maybe I’ll make a v2 with heatsink

ya you can’t electrocute yourself working with 5v dc electronics 😂 but ceramic tip tweezers are electrostatic discharge safe!
