I've noticed that, generally, smaller lowland pitchers tend to have shorter lifespans, but they produce pitchers frequently, so lifespan isn't an issue for them. On the other hand, higher-elevation plants tend to have bigger and longer lifespans pitchers, but they grow slowly and try to conserve their pitchers for as long as possible.
