Not to instruct a Kommissar but an old Ranger from my planet show me a trick of after cleaning my brushs of taking a drop of shampoo and forming the brush tip into a point and letting it dry. Then when getting ready to use the brush again just cleaning the brush with clean water. That keeps the even the cheapest brushes from wearing out quick.

@@randallporter4835 Just make sure it's a simple shampoo. A lot of them have exfoliants that you don't want mucking up your brush. It's a bit pricier but when I've got the cash I also reach for Jentastics Brush Goop. Haven't had to think about cleaning brushes since I've gotten it and works as a conditioner as well.

@@Regulus985 will do guardsman. BUT you are missing the MOST important bit. The mini 😂😂😂 technically you don't have to paint them but let the words of wisdom from your commissar be bestowed upon you! Every gw gives a free mini of the month and if they don't say your new to the hobby and your commissar told to go there. They will usually give you a free mini. 😁

I think it's the little affirming nod after every new step that makes this seem entirely achievable and worth trying out 😄. Alot of paint tutorials explain things a little coldly and dont really emphasise the important parts. You'd be a good art teacher!

Afterall, it's not like i make money so at the very least I should enjoy the process 😂😂😂. I have no interest in being an art teacher, they won't let you paint minis. I'm glad you're thinking about Orktober because I saw that blue and thought you ought to do some Deff Skullz. In other notes. It was good to see you overcome that 'primer' I could see from the initial coats it was tough to work with but you overcame it. I also enjoy you embracing and developing Commissar Nuka. Keep up the good work. The end result of the Land Raider was really good as well, I do really like how you bring these things together.

Unfortunately I don't have any deff skulls but I really want some 😭😭 but but that's ok because that would be Heresy talk!! I do have some fun specialty orks i plan on painting. One i want to paint regardless and I'm going to let ypu guys pick the other one. If I'm roll this month I will try to get a 3 rd one out!! 😁

@@maxbrandt6 newsh is good but I don't think it's as good as advertised. That being said what you see in the video is exactly how it will look. Also the makeup sponge compared to cotton rounds is way better! Hope this helps!!

Great tutorial. Thanks for the painting tips. I often forget that the point of painting is to create an illusion, so I rarely think to do simple tricks like dabbing paint *off* of a model to create traces of staining. Very nice techniques.

@@nukakitten When I've done this with coffee and tea I first spread it on a baking sheet and dry it out in the oven at about 250F for an hour or so. Also makes the kitchen smell good, if you like coffee. Once it is thoroughly dried out it shouldn't mold.

@@Justgoofin69 this specific one come from the age of darkness starter kit. It comes with the tank, a dorito dreadnought, and a bunch of mk3. It's actually a good value if you were to buy it individually. You can buy the tank buy itself tho!! 😁

I do not prime in white, as a rule in general, for the reasons you mentioned! A white ink zenithal prime is a different story, mind you, but otherwise? ANYTHING BUT WHITE. Besides, I've always preferred to base silver in black first anyway. You're better at making those tiny scratches look 3-D than I am, for sure, and that thing looked nice and dirty and thrashed, the way a proper tank should by the time you got done with it!

I really enjoy using oil paints for weathering, have you ever tried that? I would have a heart attack trying to do weathering with acrylics haha

@@Fantasy_Future I like the way oil paints look. However they are technically toxic, as well as the thinner. I have used oil paints i just didn't know for a while. The weathering i did on this tank i think is pretty easy and forward to replicate. I'm trying to show different ways to do things with paints you likely have on hand or easy to aquire
