Beautiful craftsmanship! You should allow more time at the end of your videos to show off your work. When the finished product appears near the end, youtube fills the screen with 3 pop ups for what to watch next and about 60% of the video is visible.

Awesome build. Love the use of angled risers. Nice change from the standard bullnose treads. Very clean and minimalist.

Nice! This entire reno is beautiful! I'm no tradesman, but Google says code for stair runs is 11" without nosing and the angle can be up to 30°? If so, using an angle makes hitting 11" so much easier and I would have never thought to do such a thing. Thanks, dude!

Ok, I will assume that you adjusted your table saw blade at 82° with a digital angel finder then make your cut?
@RadDadBuilds

Correct if you want to go with the 8degree angle on a riser
@macrapidito1
@macrapidito1 Жыл бұрын
@@RadDadBuilds is kinda unclear to me, sorry 😯😩but I rather ask, you made two 8° cuts to the same board/riser to match the angle of the 90° tread of the first step right? One 8° at the bottom where the riser meets the 90° tread and another 8° cut for connection between the riser and nose of the following tread, is this correct? The domino did you set it up to 8° when drilling into the boards? Or what was your settings?

Dude great work! I went for the same exact design except with walnut and 10 degree angles. I cut the treads and risers 5 years ago and have been too busy/scared to pull the trigger so they're sitting in a closet "acclimating." Think I'm going to invest in the domino for this, as it seems to be a big help and I don't trust my doweling. The filament tape is a great idea too, I was scratching my head about how I'd do that. What sealer did you use for the bottom of the wood? Varathane oil-based PU? Thanks for posting.

Did you caulk between the oak and the drywall? Your channel is one of my favorite home reno channels. Can't believe you only have 38k subs. My wife and I watched this and want to tackle our stairs. Ours looks exactly like the ones you are going to do next. We have a 90's house. We got a quote for 30k in California
@RadDadBuilds
@RadDadBuilds Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that. Yes I caulked between APL and the drywall. The neater you can get the gaps between the oak and they drywall the cleaner the caulking will be. 30k is steep for sure.

How grippy is the Bona anti-slip product? The hardwood stairs in my house are like ice. I have fallen down them 3 times.
@RadDadBuilds

Honestly it’s great. Feel smooth to the touch but it’s very grippy. I’ve tried slipping on them and it’s honestly hard. 100% recommend. Just make sure you buy the correct sealer. They come in many tones
