I'm currently running a Sedona MX907 HP, and that thing rips through deep mud. It has stiffness that allows me to run almost 0 psi with a tubliss setup. I kinda wish they would update it, but I'm still gonna get another as a replacement.

I've experimented with quite a few of these tires and for my riding, the Tusk Recon is Gold. Superb traction in a variety of conditions. Excellent durability. Excellent cost and value for the money. On my RMX450 that I made road legal I even use this thing on road stretches (It is NOT DOT compliant), between trails and it handles pavement exceptionally well at sub 60 mph speeds without wearing too much. An overall fantastic tire.

Your tire suggestions and reviews completely leave out the east coast guys with wet rocks/roots.
@YogiTheBearMan
@YogiTheBearMan 10 ай бұрын
Trials/enduro style tend to work best for that in my experience. The more “closed” pattern with more rubber contact with the ground. You will see a substantial loss of grip in loose dry or sandy stuff with those fyi. They covered them at the start of the video. They left out Shinko cheater 505 for some reason which I would put in that category too.
@easternyellowjacket276
@easternyellowjacket276 2 ай бұрын
He covers tire choices right at the beginning for wet rocks/roots. They are the gummy tires that are soft. I ride east coast and in conditions like you, and settled on the Tusk Recon. For me, it has been the best tire of the bunch listed. Easily. I run an IRC heavy duty tube at 11 psi front and rear. Works as a great compromise to cover everything the east has because it is a very diverse tire and not specialized like the gummy tires that will chunk like crazy over 30mph on anything hard.

Tried the equilibrium and ended up on some faster gravel roads at some point and it felt like I was on ice. Amazing traction in the right circumstances but dangerous where it doesn't belong. Then went to the recon and have been super happy with it. Just not DOT approved which is okay because I don't plan to use a lot of pavement. On rides where I will be doing more pavement or higher speeds, I run the TrackMaster on a separate rear wheel and that seems to wear pretty good.

@@lostinpa-dadenduro7555 they are outrageously expensive for the Michelin xtreme enduro gummy 140, also unobtainium. Around the cost of a sport bike tire. But I had to buy a few when they came around haha. I think they came out with a new one, seems the race teams buy them up. I’d def recommend the Knarly 140 if you have a chance and they’re decently priced.

At81ex 30-40h and mx33 40-50h. or improved mx34 front. Year round combo, for all riding conditions I'm happy. BTW at81ex kicks the 525 cheater way more sticky moulds to terrain much better and about 5lbs lighter than the 120. Tire weight is very important as they say 1lb unsprung is 4-6lbs sprung!

I’ve gone through a number of jx8’s now. On Tubliss around 5lbs. Works awesome. I typically get 450 miles or so of hard trail running, like Colorado rocky single track. They still hook great 90% bald as long as you’re not in a lot of sand.
