As an IELTS tutor, I find your channel super helpful. I cannot stop questioning myself when telling my students to be patient during their exam preparation. It might not be true but I feel the whole industry is obsessed with ‘strategies’ and ‘quick tips’. I totally understand almost every candidate wants to get their ideal test result in a short amount of time but I personally believe that language acquisition is a lifelong journey. I really appreciate that you can point out a lot of misconceptions and genuinely share your teaching experience. I swear I was very much stuck on 6 in writing and speaking and didn't know what to do at all. Then, just 3 days before my exam, I found your channel, and I watched around 2-3 videos about writing and speaking, I was so sad that I hadn't found this channel earlier. But I decided to make the most of it and so I watched all of the 5-day writing challenge in one day and speaking too. I was afraid that I would end up with a 6 in at least one of them. Do you read what is written on passersby's T-shirts? Any area you have been to recently where you felt calm and peaceful? Do you think it is important for people to stay calm and peaceful? (why?) Do you always remain calm and peaceful or also otherwise? (when?) What kind of music do you listen to? (why don't you listen to music?) Part2: Cue card: Talk about a room of a friend or family that you really like visiting? You should say: Who's room is that? Why do you like their room? Where is their room? Do you wish to have a room like theirs? Part 3: How is the tradition of treating guests in your country? Who in your opinion likes to stay indoors most of the time- Old people or young people? (why?) I booked my test for 25th May and the speaking test is on 23rd. I'm watching this video on 21st. I hope it goes well. One of the main problems that I face is being nervous. My teacher says that it's very easy to find out if I'm nervous from my voice. Right now I'm half way through the video and I feel pretty confident because I've always thought speaking in a simple way would reduce our scores but yea. i just finished my speaking test yesterday while i wasn't ready because of the school pressure, and it turn out not so good because i loss my calm, so sad because i spent months on Chris channel to pratice (and no stupid tips/trick from any other channel). I couldn't afford any course or professional teacher to review my essay or speaking, but turned out my test (exclude speaking) was pretty good, my aim just need at least 6.5 so i think i can do it. Just want to say thank you for all the techniques, how to improve band point, how to keep it simple, the lesson you teach us (to review & accept mistakes then work on the mistakes) make me see proper ways to solve my other life problems. ​@lanchanalokesh848 my cue card was speaking about a city I would like to move to and why. I don't have any tips other than being natural as it is more like a conversation than a test. Also, just like Chris said in his video, the trainer interrupted me a lot and asked questions deepening the topic and probably wanting to assess my ability to express complex ideas, etc. I'm glad I watched Chris' videos, as otherwise I would have spent hours doing unnecessary stuff

Yesterday, I booked the test for the 24th of May and the speaking test is two days before the test date i.e., 22 May (tomorrow). Hi Chris, thank you for this video. I finally got my IELTS. I would say I have paid until I made a choice that Chris and his videos are what I will sleep, eat and drink. It took me 1 year and 3 months. I listened to this video for just a week, and I went back to the exam. I followed everything to the T. 1st results in 14/01/2023 S:8.5 W: 6.5 R: 7 L:7.5 Then I took 4 additional sittings, with the writing component fluctuating between 6 and 6.5. That was hard. I stopped trying. I did not have the time to read what I wrote in each sitting. Time was my enemy. 2024 1st Setting 24 March 2024 S:8.5 W: 6.5 R: 7 L:7.5 In the second setting writing, I had 6 again. (31 March 2024) and requested for remark (215AUD spent) Final results Results: S: 7.5 (Usually I am 8.5) W: 7 (I was always 6 or 6.5) R: 7 L: 8 This final sitting was on the 7th of April 2024. I followed everything. During writing, I started with Task 2 (35 minutes) and then went to Task 1 (15 minutes). Then I went over to read everything. In the last 10 minutes. This last step was gold. I had copies of the books Chris recommended. If you've had multiple tries and you are doing self-study, please watch this video, practice so many times, before you do it slowly, then on exam time until your final day of the exams. You can do it. believe in Chris' strategies. I was you, I didn't believe it worked until I realized that my PR dreams are sinking. Good luck. You can do it. Chris is the best.

I’ve just finished the speaking test today. I think I did pretty well in part1&2, but couldn’t understand the last 2 questions from the interviewer in part 3 since she has a little bit of Middle East accent. your speaking score also depend on examiner mood. there can be positive or negative result . however my examiner was quite good he gave me 7 in speaking although my speaking level is at not that level. i have made lot of grammar mistake in speaking. i have lots of friend who are quite good speaker but they also got 7 like me.
