Thank you for actually pointing out that there are different choices for different people. So many of these KZbinrs are just telling everyone to avoid the M2 Pro, simply because it's not a large update over the M1. But they're completely ignoring that not everyone HAS an iPad already and it might be their first purchase. Unless budget is the top priority, it doesn't make sense for a new iPad owner to go for an older model.

iPad 10 has a non-laminated display because these are targeted at schools and corporate fleets (if not this year, next when the iPad 9 is retired) and are significantly cheaper to repair when the glass breaks. You only have to replace the glass instead of the whole display unit.

What makes no sense to me is initially bought the 64mb version and half of it was being used by iOS. They should be marketing it as 32mb because that’s its actual memory.

I can see the difference in the laminated screen vs the unlaminated one, but to me it is not a dealbreaker since I always purchase the wifi/4g/5g versions which to me it is way more important.

For the iPad Pro FaceTime use, I take it off the keyboard and hold it in Portrait mode so it doesn't look like I am doing something else and ignoring the people on the call. At least that is my workaround with how the camera is positioned.

One BIG thing about the USB - C port on the 10. It ONLY works at USB 2.0 speeds. Even the Samsung tablets work with USB - C at 3.0+ speeds.

Honestly, all I want is an iPad Air 5 with a landscape orientation camera… I am in love with the iPad 10th Gen in Yellow and 64GB is fine for me as I pay for iCloud and just use office suite and good notes and a few extras and keep no photos on there… But then again i’d want to buy an iPad with better longevity. I love the starlight but I have an iPad 8 with a terrible, low quality, non center stage webcam and the landscape one is a SELLING POINT. No idea what to do 💔

First month update. Combine the $269 iPad 9 with a $99 Apple Pencil 1. I think it's the best solution you can get for $368.00. I purchased this rig with the intention of giving it to my 10 y/o as a device with artistic capabilities. She likes to draw. It even has a headphone jack. WooHoo!🙂

I think the ipad 10 won’t be worth it until it next year when you can get a discount. I suspect there won’t be any major hardware upgrades for years and Apple will focus on bringing the price down. The biggest problem with the 10 is the accessories. The apple pencil needs to be way cheaper at this point. I could see the next gen Air getting a design change to have the keyboard work so they can work on that case price as well and make it cheaper. I think you could see only the Pro and future Ultra being the only models able to work with the next gen typecover case.

Agreed, the Air 5 is the best value, and even better a refurbished Air 4 (directly from Apple). Some feedback about the videos: sometimes the tone of your voice (how you end sentences) feels very similar from one sentence to another, like you lower your voice a little bit and extend the last syllable, I guess you could try to add some variety to how you end sentences to make the videos easier to listen. Hopefully this make sense.

You really see a difference when you go back to 60 hz haha. I always love it to buy the best one when I do buy a device. Also are you Dutch?

may i ask how long a full battery lasts? i have seen some tests and the pro came 2nd after ipad 10th. ipad air worst with 1 hour less. But the on feedback on webshop people complained about short battery for pro m2..

I'd like to replace my Surface Laptop Go with an iPad and have an iPad Mini to trade in to Best Buy for 300$. I'm trying to decide if I should go for the iPad Air 5 64GB or spring for the iPad Pro 11' M2 128GB. No need for the Magic Keyboard I have a Bluetooth one already. It's about a 100$ difference or so between the two after the trade in. I do have a larger laptop that I don't travel with, it functions as a desktop for me since it doesn't leave the house. I've also debated switching to a MacBook but I do like the ability to take notes and use my Apple Pencil.

I upgraded my iPad Air 4 64GB to iPad Air 5 256gb for 8GB of RAM extra storage M1 chip. And 5G capabilities. Use for consumption the streaming is much better and overall . Pro is just overkill. Use pro Beats Bluetooth earbuds. If they add quad speakers and microphones to the iPad Air 5 and 160 refresh is only difference to being a pro, not a dealbreaker. Happier with this upgrade. Plus have Apple Pencil and Apple keyboard is indestructible had spilt soda and coffee rinsed off under faucet twice . First time let it dry before using it again it was fine functional. Second time didn’t wait for it to dry long lost key function a couple days sprayed alcohol directly on keyboard gained function right away after wiping it off, got the track pad function a few days later but totally lost function of the port but no need to replace now ordered a plastic keypad cover but track pad has no cover. Take care of Apple keyboard its expensive to replace. I just got lucky both times. More careful with iPad Air 5😅 Pitaka magnetic case helps keep more secure on Magic keyboard. It’s flimsy for $69 but helps with gripping the ipad and secure attachment to Magic keyboard.

If you are mainly using your ipad for taking notes, then 10 is not a good choice. Ipad 9 is better, mainly because it allows the apply pencil 1 to be charged without an adapter.

I currently use my iPad professionally to access MS apps (Excel, Word,PDF, Edge) as also power point for presentations. It is also used for Teams meetings. iPad 9 for $269.00 at Walmart vs the iPad Air for $599.00. Both have 64GB Storage. I suppose the main difference for me is the chip and the ram, which is substantial. iPad 9 has 3GB RAM while the iPad Air 5 has 8GB (according to what I found on a wiki). The A13 chip in the iPad 9 has 6 core CPU, 4 core GPU, and 8 core Neural Engine vs the iPad Air 5's M1 with 8 core CPU, 8 core GPU, and 16 core Neural Engine. Does this make the iPad Air 5 worth twice as much? I went with the iPad 9. Going to test it out today. I'll keep it if it works good enough. I'll exchange it for the iPad Air 5 or iPad Mini 6 if it sucks. Walmart will take them back if you don't like 'em. 🙂

The size on iPad 10 gen is good. I really want to like it but after using it for 4 hours, it drives me crazy; I used it for a total of at least 8 hours, 2 days straight. I don’t know if mine is flaw or not but the screen brightness keeps dimming on its own multiple times. I use the iPad solely to read and had never experienced anything like this on my mini 2 for the last 9 years. For the price, this is horrible!

Isn‘t it the iPad Pro 6th Generation? I have iPad Pro 5 from 2021. Why is the 12,9“ to big? For writing is a bigger screen better and the weight difference between the two is compared to an apple. So much of a differnce isn‘t there.

I've got an iPhone, 16" M1 MBP, and now was lucky enough to score a 64GB iPad Air 5 for $340. The difference is now $459 for the 128GB 11" iPad Pro 4. Is the upgrade worth it or overkill for media consumption? No gaming, picture taking, photo/video editing, nor will I be downloading much videos. More so, casual browsing online, shopping, streaming Netflix and stuff. Maybe some note taking with a bit of doodling.

If you do not use the device for photos and videos storage then the 64GB could be enough, although in the longer run most people wished they had bought more storage. The price difference is quite steep though

64GB is almost useless. it really can not hold much of anything before you are out of room. even with the cloud. the features you gain going from AIR to PRO is 100% worth the $200 upcharge. Better screen, better sound, better processor, better cameras, LiDAR, 120Hz VRR. Either go iPad 9th gen 64GB or skip to the 11" Pro.

This is how the pricing ladder is designed. You go in looking for a simple iPad in the $500 range, then you end up spending $1000 on a tablet/stylus combination because the next upgrade was only $50-100 away. $500 iPad? For $600 you get an M1 iPad... $600 Air? But you need $750 for storage... $750 for the 256 Air? But $800 gives you the pro... $800 for the pro? But now you have less storage than the $750 Air... $900 for the 256 Pro? But if you're spending that much, you may as well buy the pencil and case... Eventually we're buying an $1,100 tablet. The ladder has to stop somewhere. May as well be the 64GB Air 4 for ~$400 refurbished. Save yourself the $500 chasing the next upgrade and only get the device you need.

Don’t agree. Got an air with 256 and after a year I have 200 spare, and that’s without consciously reducing storage, so someone with 64 can definitely manage, depending on their needs. The Air screen is picture perfect for me, although I previously only had a 6 gen ipad. Sound, well the sound on the air is impressive on full blast it gives a superb watching/listening experience, but I am often pairing up a bose minilink or high end headphones, so sound is not dependent on the speakers for me. Camera is a non-issue for me. Screenshots, some docs, but I never use ipads for photography. 120hz, another non issue as i have never used it and won’t miss what i never had, also i don’t play many games where 120hz seems to be more of a deal. So the air has its place, 200$ is not a small amount for some people.

Instead of having to watch a video heres a straight up answer if u haven’t decided yet, my opinion is the 13. 13 pro max is the phone i use and i was a long time android user. Since I switched to apple this phone has been amazing. Im sure the 14 is a good phone but to me u cant go wrong with the 13. Hope this helps

HI, well, to the US prices you always have to add 9-14% taxes, but I assume taxes in Australia are higher. Still, the Air 5 64 GB is a great device, with only in the longer run, but that depends on how you use it, a storage issue

Exchange rate is $1USD buys $1.48AUD, so Apple Australia charge $1249 (GST included) for the 2022 64GB iPad Air 5th Generation Wifi/Cellular. For someone on my wage that's a lot 😂 But yes, it is a fantastic device, for sure. Just wish I had more storage, but I will manage.

not sure about an ipad buying guide. but the iPad buying process is like this: 1. you have a need. 2 buy an ipad with laptop internals. 3 get the main accessories including pen and keyboard. 3. I would have thought the ridiculously overpriced ipad pros would be impossible to recommend. For a media consumption, occasional browsing device I would have thought that the lowest priced device with a reasonable memory is the only sensible choice. Also in the impossible to recommend must be the appalling and ridiculously priced magic keyboard. Truly dreadful typing experience. Now ipad should cost more than a laptop.

Gibson Guitar lessons app, Fender Tone, a app that allows you to change, edit and create effects and preset on my Fender GTX guitar amp.. Marshall Gateway, does the same thing as the Fender tone but for Marshall Code 25 and 50 watt amps.. The Spark app, an app for the Positive Grid Spark modeling amp.. Katana Librarian and the Katana Air app, apps for the Boss Katana MKII guitar amps.. Mantis from the Laser Academy, an app used to dry fire indoor target practicing, this app utilizes the camera to stare and targets and keep score, and finally, Final Cut Pro... I have it on my mac mini but apparently I have to get another copy for the tablet.. so based on all of this, which would you go with, the 12.9 or the 11?
