You're awesome, dude. You put up with a lot of haters and never seem to get worked up. So what if you call it a man purse. I do jokingly all the time. The best part about EDC is making it your own, making it work for you. This video was great and I really like your set up. Keep up the good work.

This was my very first purchase from Maxpedition; and Ive been a 5.11 user for about 7 years now; and since trying maxpedition’s “neatfreak”, and shopping around a few--I am fully BLOWN AWAY. I thought 5.11 made some damned good products; but literally the SECOND I laid my hands on this pack; from its materials, to its different layouts; things of that nature........ I haven’t even LOOKED at a piece of 5.11 gear since. Great pack for anyone interested.

Good video. Just picked up a NeatFreak, and have been researching EDC systems as I'm reworking my own. I totally understand and appreciate the flashlight thing! Got a SureFire E2DL, a Fenix LD10 R5, and a keychain light on me right now. I also always have a pack nearby, which currently contains an additional 7+ lights (including UV and a headlamp), and several more in the vehicle. People at work ask to borrow a flashlight, and I ask how many lumens and what kind of beam pattern they want... ;)

Those sheaths are weird. I don't own a Surge, but I have a Super Tool 300, and some smaller Leatherman. None have sheaths you can get the multi-tool out of without opening it. I love the look of that "man Purse". Two things I've learned. 1. If it has real workman tools exposed to view, no one thinks of it as a man purse. 2. If you put backpack straps on it, no one thinks of it as a man purse. As for cost, my son has an Altoid size EDC that has more than one hundred dollars in content, and mine is almost as expensive. High quality is usually expensive, but worth it. But, wow, I love the look and size of that "man purse". I've been looking for something exactly that size, and I think I've now found it, though I probably will put removable backpack straps on it.

What gets me is that with a nice EDC bag and go to public tourist venues they now have airport type checkpoints to go thru and will freak if you have a Gerber, multi tool, knife (pocket). This happened in Philly when I went to see the Liberty Bell with my daughter. Her husband had to take my EDC Bag BACK to the care with my licensed pistol so we could get in. Bothered me that now my stuff is in a car that could be broken into and a pistol put on the streets. Irritates me to no end

As a member of the public I feel safer that you're not allowed to carry a firearm around me, and it should be illegal for folks to leave firearms in unattended vehicles exactly for the reason you pointed out. What good is a loaded firearm to you when its locked in your car which you can't get to or even see...madness.

Thanks for this video. I like some/most of your gear choices. However, the problem I have with this type of bag is they look too 'tactical', especially with the add-on pouches. The pockets tend to be quite narrow, so if you put something thick in one pocket, you have difficulty getting anything into the adjacent pocket. Looking at the way you've packed your stuff, too many items are exposed and perhaps easily lost. I prefer a slightly larger, plainer bag with more internal pockets/capacity. Just my opinion.

One point of advice. Get a small battery case for that battery in your tac shorts. It is in there with a metal tape measure and could potentially spark and cause a battery melt down. Just a pointer. Cheers

This is true, that being said I have a streamlight stylus pro that I used to carry for just that reason that was so notorious for turning on in my pocket and burning up the batts that it was useless. I now just buy the Duracell pro cell batts in the cardboard 4pack containers and keep them in my bag or pocket.

Love the vintage SAK, I carry a SAK every day most days either a Fieldmaster or an AlOx Farmer. I love having the little saw, and the scissors. I also carry a tape measure which I use all the time... I'd recommend u carry more spare batts... You do have a ton of blades though, might consider pairing it back some.

Here are a couple items I have in my bag that I've found helpful time and again. 1. I get a couple of plastic shopping bags. I carefully fold them up and it ends up about the size of a bic lighter. Very helpful when walking the dog, needing to carry a few items, on and on. 2. A vial of essential oils I call my edc - essential oil first aid kit. Search "edc - essential oil first aid pack the image foundry" for more info on this kit. Small and good for bites, sunburn, headaches, cuts, and more.

I think you need a few more flashlights. lolz o.O seriously though, if anyone is going to have that many flashlights in an EDC bag, might as well get those $1 flashlights at walmart which work amazing by the way. I have a few of those $1 walmart flashlights for a few years, not in an EDC bag, but one in my truck, garage, basement, and upstairs in my house. I haven't had a single problem with them yet.

I hated the pouch that came with my Leatherman at first as well. I think your new pouch is better, but the one that came with your tool has a pocket for holding the bit set. If you utilize that second little pocket the multitool will hold firm. I keep one of those magnesium fire starters in there. You can find 'em at walmart for $6 or so. So, I always have my multi-tool and a means for starting a fire. :-) ...and I always EDC my Hogue EX-01 as well.

Very nice EDC, if the sole purpose is showing off to other people how much you carry. I use a Maxpedition FR-1 with a 5.11 water bottle holder (I had one laying around) molle'd to the side, and carry those two things with a shoulder strap. Very small, very efficient. Holds just about anything you could actually 'need' per-say, excepting a laptop.

Awesome carry but I would never clip items like light and other things outside my bag cuz people got a problem with sticky fingers and go near you for no reason when there's mad room. That's his my sak and clipped pens got stolen. I was younger and naive so I didn't think anyone would take pens or open outside compartments in a pinch till it happened.

Actually I made it to the end. Comments: - an EDC too big to be carried every day, so it is not carried every day, kind of loses the meaning, doesn't it *sigh* - much lights, and all very similar, I'd replace 3-4 of those with a headlamp, which would be much more useful in real emergency situation... -I'd rather lose another light and a couple extra batteries for a small phone usb battery - 1 multitool is not enough? - paper towels stored in side pocket, where they would get soaked easily

Hey Craig, Great video and you do have a lot of flashlights but that's OK with me. You really have a 'Neat' Man Purse. I have 3 bags with all me stuff, like you, you need the bags to put all the stuff we like to collect and use. I had one question, don't you think that the SOG Power Assist is like a piece of jewelry, too? It shines like the Victorinox Multi Tool RS, don't you think? I have both of them and a Wave, too.

As you said, you sacrifice some function for the fit of an item. Many a man could take a lesson in your "fashion sense" when carrying their EDC items. Men don't need to go "tactical" with their belts being weighed down by so many items. Nice video. I would imagine your significant other appreciates your organization.

Excellent review. Well-appointed pouch. Good ideas. (I do, however, cringe every time you call it a "Man-Purse." Maybe that's just me.) Of course, as you said, it COULD be called a man-purse, but I'd prefer something else (anything else) like, "satchel" for example. To be fair, in our day, women were the first to universally carry EDC essentials. Nice job, though. 👍🙂

+RonJohn63 What waist strap? Mine doesn't have a waist strap. At any rate, the only comfortable way I've found to put the weight on my legs is with a good, high quality frame pack, and they're all much larger than something I want to carry, unless I've going out for a week or more. To me, a waist strap without a frame that takes up the weight is more uncomfortable than no strap at all.

James Ritchie _What waist strap? Mine doesn't have a waist strap._ It was hypothetical: If you're hiking a long distance, then you *should* have a backpack, and it *should* have a waist strap. _ the _*_only comfortable way I've found_*_ to put the weight on my legs is with a good, high quality frame pack_ My son has a petty small -- just a bit larger than book bag -- knapsack with a padded waist strap. But since you said what you said, maybe you've tried such packs.
