I JUST WANTED TO SHARE A POST ON HERE THAT I SHARED ON MY SOCIAL MEDIA YESTERDAY, SEVERAL OF THESE COMPLAINTS AND COMMENTS WERE IN REGARDS TO LAST WEEKS VIDEO AND SOME MESSAGES AND COMMENTS I HAVE RECEIVED DURING THE WEEK IN RELATION TO RECENT VIDEOS. THE ROOFTOP TENT VIDEO HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED ON KZbin YET BUT I DID SHARE IT ON MY FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM. I just wanted to make a post about some of the feedback and comments I've been receiving from several people lately. I love what I do and am grateful for the interaction and support I get from you all and from the community that has grown with me. I get that not everyone is going to like everything I do and will have different ideas and opinions to me. I just wanted to take this opportunity to share some things from my perspective - I figured I would rather take this chance to hopefully help people understand and then I can then refer anyone in the future to this post. Some of the not so positive feedback I’ve received lately is along the lines of 'you've changed', 'you're old videos were better', 'you just do sponsored stuff for money now', 'where’s the videos of you camping and 4wding, I don’t want all this other sh*t’ In relation to the rooftop tent video: - I did this video because I got absolutely bombarded with people asking me to do it, that is by the far the most requested video I've ever had. Luke/Drifta didn't ask me to do it, it wasn't a paid/sponsored advertisement. - I said a couple of times in the video it wasn't a review, just an initial look/thoughts. More like an unboxing video, I tried to keep it as mutual as possible. Everything I said in the video was just my honest first impression. - I understand I can’t keep everyone happy, and to be honest it seems the bigger the channel grows, the more complaints I get, and the complaints never seem to be on the same page. It seems everyone loves you when you're a small KZbinr, then as you start to grow people feel the need to tell you what a bad job you're doing - Some people complain if I don't put out a trip video every week. Then others complain if I do only trip videos every week. Some people tell me not to put out a video every week, others complain if I don't. Some complain if a video is too long, others complain it’s too short. I get requests to do a walkthrough of the new rooftop tent, then complaints when I do one. People ask me to do a walkthrough of someone’s 4wd, others complain when I do 4wd walkthroughs. People want to know about certain gear I use, others complain when I make a video on that gear. You get the gist! Some days I throw my hands up as it feels like I cant just win. - It would be amazing to go 4wding and camping every single week and put out a new trip video every single week but unfortunately unrealistic. I am 100% a one man show - I am the film crew, editing crew and social media crew. I invest 40+ hours of my time per week at this stage. - From my experience and what I've learnt doing KZbin for a couple of years now, variety is incredibly important. You need to do review videos, car walkthrough videos, trip videos. If you do the same thing week after week people get bored quickly and you get less and less views. At this point my 4wd walkthrough videos have been my most successful videos by far, not the trip videos. - I like to do other little 4wding related videos in between the trip videos, they are less work and I enjoy doing them. I understand they are not for everyone, and if they are not for you no need to watch them. Thankfully KZbin works in a way where you don't have to watch every video someone makes. For me personally, I watch many different KZbinrs, but I don't watch every single video they do as some I’m simply not interested in, I wait until the next one comes out that I might be interested in 🤷‍♂️ -COVID 19 happened which I unfortunately had no control over and we couldn't go away for 3 months (multiple trips away were cancelled). I couldn't go 4wding and camping and make trip videos, so there has been less in recent months and more of other general 4wd videos. I am proud that I have still been able to put out a new video every single Sunday this year for people to enjoy if they want to watch it. As has been the case for so many people, this last 6 months has been one of the toughest times I've been through. All at once I lost my job, navigated my way through a breakup, and was at home every day home schooling my son and not allowed to go anywhere due to COVID. - I have rearranged my work/life a little to cater for how much time I put into KZbin now; I thankfully make some money off it now. BUT, if I don't put a video every week I don't get that money. So while I do this because I love it, there is also an aspect of it that is work/job for me and I do need to keep it going if I want to succeed and keep my income coming. I lost a lot of my school work due to COVID and it will take time before it gets back to what it was, so I've had to put my focus onto KZbin to keep paying the bills. At the end of the day I'm quickly realising that no matter what I do, I'm going to get more people hitting me up with their 2 cents and I'm never going to be able to keep everyone happy, so I just need to do what I think is right and do what I love doing

Mate don’t sweat it. The world is full of keyboard heroes. I’ll be honest I didn’t watch the video because it didn’t suit me, I didn’t complain. I just gave it a like and scrolled on. What’s the point of whinging? Imagine these people had a real problem? This channel is for you, by you. You do you mate. Can’t make em all happy cause they all miserable lazy flops who sit on their arses and watch the world through a screen. I love what you do mate and am very grateful to be able to share in it. Much love brother God bless you

Great video once agian Tyler. Your channel is is in my top two 4WD channels. I even watch the videos I'm not intersted in (and there has only been one or two). Consider bad comments like ratings on free to air. In the past we would just change the channel but now people have ability to comment, instead of just changing the channel. Never apologise or explain your self to the mob! On a completely unrelated matter have you considered opening a subscribestar account. Patreon is about to go bankrupt through class ations and your money will be used to pay it. Have you also considered putting your material on Bitchute as an alternative or companion to KZbin? Keep it up mate your doing a ripper of a job!

I really enjoy this channel and the work that you do. If it any time there is a subject I’m not interested in I’m free to stop the video. You are never going to keep everybody happy and quite frankly, I wouldn’t even try if I were you.It’s your channel and I think you should do what you want to do with it. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen anything on this channel that is worthy of complaint. I say, keep up the good work and do what suits you, most importantly enjoy what you’re doing. Thanks for another great video.

Hey Tayler, I'll watch your channel from the start. For me this is an inspiration what is possible with a Navara even if you don't have that much money. I like your new car and I'll treat you to it, even if I'm a little bit jealous at times. Unfortunately, we don't have that many opportunities to go off-road here in Germany, but next week I'll drive my Navara to an off-road park and see what works with it. keep it up and stay healthy.

Hey mate, given your preamble I just wanted to throw some support your way. I stumbled on your videos recently, and have been working my way through the lot of them. Firstly, I’m a single dad with 3 kids, and I’m picking up my first 4wd in the next week or so. Your videos are my reference point for what I will do with them as my experience (and hopefully, capability) builds. 40m videos are fantastic when they’re well produced and authentic. And I love your music style! Secondly, negativity can go two ways - it can help you grow, or bring you down. The challenge is working out how you can harness the negativity, particularly the destructive/non-constructive type to help your channel grow - if it’s not possible, them water off a ducks back. Third point - I see nothing wrong with a shameless plug if that’s what it takes to literally keep the show going. Many channels do it, and if you lose one or two along the way, so be it. If you keep that thing that keeps me (and I’m sure others) engaged though, your authenticity, I reckon you’ll go ok. A friendly request - would love to see some stuff on the Brindies, apparently there’s some cracking ground to cover up there! (Sorry if you’ve already done some, still working thru the back-catalogue...)

Three cheers for you Tyler. I have watched your vids from way back and filled my GPS with campspots and tracks that you have done. I have only commented on one of your vids once before. Infact I rarely read the comments. You shouldn't either. BTW do you get paid if there are more comments? I didn't think so. If the success of your efforts is measured by views and subscribers, then why even read them? (except this one of course...) More power to you mate. Every time I pass a white Nav on the trails I hope it's you so I can thank you in person. Stay strong. And do what you love.

Bro in all honesty. You need a back up plan so if ya the first car through a bit hard. But you have a back up snatch ready if the winch does fail quickly hook up the snatch and out ya get before you take on to much water

The next time you get your truck on a lift please film the underside of it and chuck it into the end of a video or somewhere. I want to see the patina and battle scars from everything you have done so far. :)

Hi Tyler, mate i stumbled across your video on YT by accident and I must say I was absolutely gobsmacked at the quality of the editing, filming, commentary, your skills at 4wd'ing etc etc. You make those pro TV shows look like rookies. Keep it up mate..you've won over another fan. Cheers mate.

How fun is that area. Looks so good. The fires certainly ravaged that area well and truly. Great video. Your dads mux, does he have a diff drop? Has he broken a cv since putting the manual hubs on, to help to disconnect the front end to drive home, with out a trackside cv change?
@TylerThompson90

Thanks mate! Nope doesn't have a diff drop, its only a 2 inch lift. And nope he's never broken a cv before so haven't had to put them to use yet

Kulkyne kampers do a double stretcher for a queen swag (1.5m wise) that they’ve just released. I have my eye on it but can’t tell you if it’s any good. Has no pole in the middle.

With some of the tracks you do I don’t think your vehicle is necessarily that capable. You need something like a 80 series or patrol with big lift & tyres. I know you got through but geez it was a bit hairy at times. Good video 👍

Hi Tyler, I've seen your vids with what upgrades your running, I have a question, what breaks are you running. When I get mine a little muddy on the np300, my breaks are almost non existent.. it's dangerous!

Just a suggestion: a bit more detail about where exactly you are in these areas, would be appreciated. That isn't a complaint :). While I think you have locking diffs or LSD (or maybe I'm mistaken...), it none the less goes to show that a sensibly driven IRS/ rear leaf 4wd can go anywhere a sensible person would want to. There are more commercially orientated YT channels who really talk it all up quite a bit, and wow on about big lifts, oversized tyres and all the rest.

Can guarantee he doesn't do it at home. He isn't very echanicaly inclined as stated numerous times in previous videos and you'll never get it well enough with home tools. Just pay the $60-80 it cost for a professional one 😂😂

@@stevencox75 let me know how you go if you figure out a sucessful way man. I tried my best to align my patrols suspension when i put all the 4 inch lift running gear (drop boxes, panhard, drag link and tie rod) and it was terrible to drive compared to a professional alignment. had my diff centred to the mm and toe too. Can't beat laser guided computer accurate alignments imo
