I find your reviews to be more informative and honest than many other KZbin creators…Thank you for all you do. I was wondering would the fifine lp fit in the rode clamp I already have? i have a difficult (used to be a kitchen table with beveled edges) “desk” to clamp onto and the rode works extremely well….I’m just looking for a low profile arm. I also agree that Elgato seems a bit overhyped/priced….I have two key light air desk lights that I hate…I’m going to eventually switch those out for something like Godox, amaran or whatever.

Thank you for the kind words 🙏 as far as your question, I honestly do not know if it would fit because I do not own that clamp. All I can suggest is to try it. If it doesn't work, then do an Amazon return

Elgato has new version which in fairness is better. Great review on BM88

My brother, I have the elgato lp arm and moved it several times between setups and desks, it still pristine. You gotta put your handling of the equipment into consideration, you destroyed the padding foam yourself.
@SquidHeadJoe10 ай бұрын
Like I said in video I only move it 2 times and have had it since it came out and all my equipment is handled with the up most care, a lot of it is too expensive not too. I did not destroy the equipment, the padding is bad in comparison to other arms I have, but it could have just been my unit

Thanks for the honest review. How well is the boom arm holding up now that it's been a few months? @Squid Head Joe

I would never touch another maono product again, even at gunpoint. Fifine had impressed me over the years ago I'm definitely grabbing one at the first opportunity!

Hi Joe, Great video! Do you think this arm can support a Heil PR40 at 2.2 pounds? The specs on the are say 3.3 pounds, but I'd like to double check with you before ordering the arm.
@SquidHeadJoe9 ай бұрын
honestly I do not know since I don't own the mic. the mic I do have which are my heaviest ones are the shure mv7x & the movo vsm-5 and both can be supported. my suggestion would be to order the arm off of amazon if it doesn't hold it then just return it since amazon has a 30 day window.

Is the reach of the boom arm more than the elgato LP? Looks like it’s about the same but I need more reach.
@SquidHeadJoe10 ай бұрын
It's about the same, with elgato you could extend the reach by getting their Flex Arm S for Multi Mount System that would work with the LP but not sure on the stability of it but it's probably the only choice that I am aware of
@colton984110 ай бұрын
@@SquidHeadJoe thanks for the response! Funny that you mention that as I just tested it out with the extension as I had it laying around and it works. I’m using the SM7B so surprised it’s holding up.

@colton9841 No problem, and yea, I'm not sure if there will be other options in the future that could fix that issue, but here's hoping

wtf does elgato software issues with other products have to do with their mic arms? also, "work from hype" didnt research what he bought to see what the requirments were to use them... also that magnet thing has been adressed by elgato, they did an update on the magnet so they are stronger now
@SquidHeadJoe10 ай бұрын
Smh 🤦♂️, i guess elgato is just sending their drones again either that or your one of its brand loyalties for some reason defending a company is weird...the software issues were brought into the conversation to show a point, even if they have addressed the magnet issue, a microphone arm costing $99 that doesn't do anything new/no added components makes no sense and is objectively over priced. There are ones on the market now that have headphone hangers, better cable management, and extension rods for $80. Elgato up charges people on everything 2 to 3 times because it's elgato. Even if work from hype didn't research, the product issues don't magically go away?!? I have personally been in countless peoples streams who have the same issues, THE EXACT SAME ISSUES MENTIONED IN THE VIDEO. not to mention all the issues I have had with their products personally. Elgato products have crashed/blue screened my 2 pcs till this day for literal years. both of which are pretty beefy pcs. If you did your research on the issues with their products, you would find horror stories about people having to replace pc parts because they got messed up because of elgato products. Not to mention people who have years of experience/ careers in audio who have proven that their sound panels are over priced and barely work at all smh Lying to try to protect a brand that doesn't pay you/doesn't know you exist instead of calling out a companies bad practices is really weird 🤦♂️
@crodles10 ай бұрын
im currently using a fifine microphone daily, i have no ties to elgato, but my good experiences with elgato shouldnt be a bad thing, most of their stuff is overpriced. but it also fucking works. there is a reson they have such good brand recognition. i have no ties to any brand for that matter. i like the shit i like and dont like the shit i dont like. as simple as that. they were the first company that did a lowprofile mic arm. and they got recognition for doing it. elgato dosent have ultra budget gear, they love to dominate the 90-200 dollar price budget, and they are almost never the best answer. but they are reliable because their shit just works. @@SquidHeadJoe
@SquidHeadJoe10 ай бұрын
Smh the level of incompetence is astounding 🤦♂️ just because you only had a good experience does not mean others don't have bad experiences nor do that mean "they are reliable" or "because it works". The only way you can come to that conclusion is if you completely ignore everybody who has a bad experience or never did any research at all on forms, youtube comments, or read any redit threads of thousands of people complaining about their software and products etc. No elgato is not the first company to make low profile boom arms, podcast and companies have been using them for years any amount of research would rebuild that to you. They took the idea and instead of charging $300 they charging $99 but now years later with content creation growing and more companies joining they are still acting like they a premium brand and only their products exist. Even you said they are almost never the best answer. How is that true if you say they are "reliable" and "they work" and "I have good experiences" if again They overcharge and thousands of people have issues? I'll tell you, the pay or promote themselves through big content creators and tell the paid ones what to say and not to say and the ones who don't get paid are Pressured/scared into giving a glowing review like you are doing in order to keep receiving products to do early reviews to get views and elgato like most companies understand they have this power and continue to overcharge consumers. Smh You're talking to somebody who's been doing Human psychology since 2009 till 2017 and game/streaming from 2014 plus working with multiple brands for 2 years and knows over 100 creators which most own elgato products. There products have issues and they overcharge, that is an undeniable fact. If you sit here and try to refute that then this conversation is pointless. I'm done, you can see yourself out.

3:40 you did cut out that he had a early „faktory-version“ (I think)
@SquidHeadJoe Жыл бұрын
oh I missed that when editing I meant to cut those seconds off the next person not him. however, even with that I know to many people who are streamers that complain about the same issues and have had that issue happen even while their live streaming not to mention ALL elgato software has issues & a huge number of people always have issues, no one talks about it from a content creator side because their affaid of miss out on a sponsorship

elgatos arm is great and "its just gonna sit there and hold your microphone" pls tell me that was a joke cuz last time i checked... THATS WHAT EVERY MIC ARM DOES 💀💀😭😭🙏🙏
@SquidHeadJoe4 ай бұрын
@Zuemagt Yes, that is what every microphone boom arm does, and the joke is that elgato charges $99 for something that does just that, and people just dont care also its not a great microphone boom arm. I think this just whole video and the other videos I have made on microphone boom arms have just went over your head, I guess...
