From what I've seen, Strider's essentially a canonical legend. Makes sense, though: The speed! The prowess!!! The focus!!!! The ninja skills that set him apart from everyone else...this guy deserves a little more attention than he seems to be getting.

In the original game Strider saw a flying battleship and remarked "You must be joking! You're sending a toy into battle?" the person he was talking to even said they would continue to control the World as long as they had that battleship, after effortlessly tearing through it Strider goes through the rest of the game and kills Meio who had attained Godhood, after watching the DeathBattle I also learned that Strider can easily sever someone's torso with just his bare hands with ease. So yeah he's kind of strong.

When I first heard that Screw Attack was doing a Death Battle of Ryu Hayabusa vs Strider Hiryu, I was both hyped and unsure of who would win because I liked both characters. But soon I realized that despite Ryu having a wide range of weapons, skills, and abilities. Hiryu outclasses him in almost every aspect when comes to speed and weaponry. Not only was Hiryu more then capable of slicing through most of Ryu's weapons like bread n butter with his Cypher's Plasma Energy, but he could move at a speed of light, dodging anti-aircraft bullets that were designed to hit him and surviving in outer space. And he could cut through limbs with his bare hands!... Which is disturbing as hell. In the end though, both characters will always remain as one of my favorites and most powerful video game ninjas in my book.

Wolf Blade Raiden may have the skills, but he relies too much on technology, so Hiryu has him beat on this one. Another huge advantage for Hiryu is that a lot of Raiden's tools and weapons are man-made metal, making it easy for him to slice through them with the Cypher's Plasma Energy.

Andrey Kusanagi it’s in the Strider manga, which is detailed in the Strider Hiryu vs. Ryu Hayabusa Death Battle. That’s not even the craziest thing Hiryu is capable of. (The manga was sort of a companion piece to the Strider NES game, which was bizarrely only released in the U.S. at the time.)

Jonathan Rios No, UMvC3 was TJ Storm and Strider remake was Marc Biagi. Marc was the better of the two. But really, neither match up to his Japanese voice. To be honest, after hearing his performance as Wonder-White in Wonderful 101, I think Yuri Lowenthal could pull off Hiryu nicely.

@Machdude To be fair, out of the 7 of us who play together all the time, only one guy is particularly good at fighting games. The guy who uses Strider isn't very good at crossing up or wall clinging or anything like that yet (to be honest, most of us just hide in the corner until his Ouroboros is done) but it's always fun to watch him do it. I don't think I've ever seen anyone throw that many orbs out at one time. haha!
