Sound Effects and Music, it's crazy how every map has its own music, the select fighter menu has its own music and the start menu as well, I think the horror vibe they went with really made this game extra great because no other games were doing this, this is back when horror games were incredibly rare.

omg, the nostalgia. Game and character. Rain's brutality was the first I've ever learned. You couldn't google back then for combos; everything had to be learned and tested. XXX BCZ BCZ BCZ BXXA or something very very close to that. I had every move written in a Planner. My mom found it and couldn't believe that was my handwriting (it was so beautiful and cared for unlike my school notes).

The use of real martial artist and stop motion, combined with creative moves, animalities, fatalities, babality and brutalities added a uniqueness that is unmatched, MK had to compete with Street Fighter and a smaller bugdet and made a timeless game. Cool fact. Ed Boon the MK creator is a big fan of Prince the singer, and created the character Rain as a nod to his favourite Prince song Purple Rain. That is why Rain is a purple ninja.

+MDCKilla Rain was meant to be a joke character. He was never meant to even appear in any of the UMK3 console ports. Rain was originally a red herring inserted by the game developers; a character shown in the game's attract mode who did not actually exist wthin the game itself. Many MK fans tried to find this character and eventually relaized that this was a joke character (named after a Prince song "Purple Rain"). The joke expanded further when it is revealed that Rain is a prince himself. After all that, they decided to include Rain in the console ports of the game. So basicly he is one of the characters that appear briefly in the games.
