I thought the same too. I am not a professional designer. I just do that as a hobby, but I definitely believe Ben's version is better and more aesthetically pleasing, but I guess the project wasn't to appeal for a young modern client, rather an old-style client.. which sometimes can be hard especially if you are a young designer influenced by modern styles.

@Piksils
@Piksils Жыл бұрын
@@BenMarriott i think the recipe is already in a great space (initial brief, timed challenge, mid-challenge curve balls). Some things that could mix it up is putting in restrictions (only typography, specific styles, set colour palettes, only 'x'-type shape layers, etc.) Also different guests help freshen up approaches etc. Maybe even tournament style progression? Would love to discuss further if you're keen!

This was fun - enjoyable to see how other well known motion designers tackle a project from concept to final product. I’ll have to say as the ‘target audience’ who used to use VHS ‘back in the day’ that reminding older people of their mortality is not a good move. We are thinking of our age and impending mortality far too much so most of us really don’t care to be reminded of it, frankly. I’m sure younger people don’t realize the reality of that! 😂 Love the client notes - hilarious and not that far off from reality at times. I hope you do more of these videos!
