I have a '97 Tahoe that I do not plan on converting to manual, but thoroughly enjoyed the video because of depth you went to showing every step, pitfall, and challenge. You had your PCM tuned by mail at the end. I'm considering getting my hands on an 0411 PCM, re-pinning the connectors, and flashing a tune on it from HP or some other service. I find that the 4l60e hates 45mph. Doesn't know if it wants to be in 3rd or 4th gear. Anyway, great video man. Looking forward to more gmt400 content.

After going through 3 4L60E's, 2 years ago I manual swapped my 300,000+ mile '98 Suburban K1500, best thing I ever did.

I picked up a low mile 96 over Christmas and have that electronic shift t-case like you - good video, will archive it in my favorite because a nv3500 swap is the most involved thing mechanically i want to upgrade.

I'm AMAZED by the quality, quantity and detail of work you put into this swap. Even changing the gauge cluster for a manual specific one is crazy work. I loved this video and the way you explained it all. I have a 1997 Yukon 4x4/ 5.7 Vortec/ 4L60E and I truly hope I can find someone willing to do this swap for me in my truck as I'm mecanically inclined but I think not this much 😅 Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for the very detailed video and congratulations on your perfectly done manual swap, YOU ARE A PRO. Greetings from México 🫡

Thanks friend, I really appreciate it! Goodluck with your project. I spent more time gathering the parts I needed than it took to complete the actual swap.

Great video, man. Makes me miss my old GMT400s

I was planning on doing this to my old '98 K1500 but it was just too darn rusty to justify it sadly. If I can't find a factory manual truck I'd still consider doing it. Great video

I’ve always wanted to do this swap on a suburban, this doesn’t look as hard as I thought it would be
@WeakestofWeeks26 күн бұрын
It's surprisingly not too difficult of a swap. I just made sure to get all the parts I needed before I even began
@jestertech379016 күн бұрын
@@kennorcott7074 I did it on my '98 Suburban K1500 for less than it would've cost to even get a used 4L60E from my local junkyard (To be fair, they kinda rip you off at $750 for a used trans).

Excellent job on the project and video! I'm considering the swap (96 K1500, 5.7l) seeing what you've shown (also considering my 60e is starting to slip in 4th again). From the video it looked like the 4L60e and the NV3500 must have been the exact same length from bell face to t-case mounting face, needing no change in transmission mount holes or drive shaft lengths, is that right?
@WeakestofWeeks13 күн бұрын
Yep thats correct! The NV3500 used the same 4L60E trans mount, crossmember, original crossmember mounting holes, as well as front and rear drive shafts.

Upon completion of this job with keeping the electric shift transfer case did the transfer case still shift into 4 low
@WeakestofWeeks26 күн бұрын
The electric shift 4wd can definitely be finicky. Everything seems to be working good though! Shortly after the swap, I needed 4wd to hook up to a trailer in a muddy field. Once back on the road, I towed for over 400 miles with half of that loaded down with a vehicle. Most of that time I was back in 2wd but needed 4wd to drop the trailer off again. So far cycling through between 2wd and 4wd is working.

what happened to the buell build?
@WeakestofWeeks26 күн бұрын
I still have 2 Buells. I may end up selling the one with the hero blue wheels and have yet to post video's on the new 1125 project.
@irocss8510 күн бұрын
@WeakestofWeeks why? I love that blue. I have a 99x1 carbon extreme with the nuclear blue frame and wheels i can't see selling it. How much are you gonna sell that 1125 for?
@WeakestofWeeks9 күн бұрын
That X1 has to be the best combo they made! I've never seen a carbon edition in person. As for my blue wheeled 1125, I just don't ride it much anymore. It's lower miles 6k but the nicest Buell I've ever had, outside of a 14 EBR1190 I used to own. Unfortunately, as I get older I find it a bit uncomfortable to ride. I'm going to try drop pegs and see how that works out. If I were to sell it I'd likely want $6k
