I was scratching my head thinking where was that missing footage. Well, I found it and so this video is the missing 6 minutes of footage that ought have been at the front of Part 2, duh!

Hi Ken. Thanks for the videos, I have watched a mix of your renovate and travel videos. I am about to replace the old bungees that hold the stairs on my XTRK. Have you done this job? It looks like the rivets go through to an internal cavity within the wall. If so, I just need to carefully drill them out and rivet in news ones? No tricks? Any advice? Thanks in advance, Dan

Hi Dan, No, nothing tricky about the replacement of the bunny hoops. I’ve found most rivets are about the 3mm size so try to ensure you don’t drill larger than existing rivets. Lest you need larger diameter rivets. Once you’ve drilled the “head” off the river the Bundy hoop should come off. I then use a pin punch to push the body of the river back inside (just look inside where the rivets are). Once the river bodies are punched back inside try and retrieve them - they’ll rattle around if not. It’s just tidy to do that too. Some Bundy hoops may have a smaller diameter hole than the rivets that have been drilled. Just drill the plastic hole out. Apart from riveting the new hoops on all done (think about a dab of silastic in the river hole before fixing new hoops). kennym

@@kennymepicadventures876 Thansks for the reply Ken, I appreciate it. I have no access to the back of the rivet for the right hand bunny hoop (the left one I think I do). The back of the rivet isn't visible in the cabin, it appears to be inside a vertical cavity that might be part of a frame on that side of the door. Let me know if I have misunderstood, otherwise I'll go ahead a drill carefully and hope that the lose rivet doesn't cause any issues. Regards, Dan ps. @@dwyerdanb Dan, sounds like you are on the money 👍 New van is different from the Ultimate. But out here at Birdsville at 37/38 degrees it’s nice to have some air conditioning. I have seen an XTRK out here roughing it near the race course. Might be a little uncomfortable. kennym
