I just realized that the wings, oddly enough, remind me of gundam X / Double X because if you look the wings are in the shape of an X or * (if you count the tiny parts on the lower wings) and those pieces on the side of the armor's legs make me think of the collection panels on the legs of the Double X. But mabye I'm crazy, And great review Spada, keep up the good work

I had this one as (sort of) a gift by an in-law and I too had a problem with the trailer (yes, I mean transforming it in the trailer.) But after seeing how the "power arms" supposed to fold, I'm going to give it a try again. Thanks for the direction, Baltmatrix!

For $90.00 I would expect a lot more. I think ROTF Optimus Prime was the better of the 3 movie Prime toys though regarding detail and transformation. Great review too!

Rotf prime is a good example. Looks good and has good movements. And is a great stand alone piece of art. And a giant spanking bonus is combines with jetfire to become even larger. But not large enough to be stupid. And has enough bulk to him. I'm not to sure what hasbro was thinking. It looks agile. I'm not to sure how kids could play with thing.

I really like this guy, mainly the Ultimate Mode, but I really wish the wheels on the arms could fold up under the arms for basic robot mode, it'd look so much better. But it's really awesome. I do kind of wish the face mask for the cannon could be used without deploying it, cause I love that mask. Also, the loose hips are just yours, mine work fine.

At least you're honest about but liking the character for aesthetics and stress it is your opinion. I think they were going for X-Wing on the design; you can, if you choose, fold down the upper wings in line with the lower ones and create a B2 Bomber style. Personally I kinda like combined robot mode, even if the base one has proportion issues. Oh, and $20-30 isn't gonna happen.

Combined mode is beast, not really digging the normal robot mode though especially with the front truck tires and tire guards hanging off the side of the forearms. I wish they were peggable so you could un-peg them and peg them back on the ankles. If i get this guy I think I'll display him in super ultimate mode next to my ROTF leader class Prime.

I would have bought this for many conditions. 1. The legs shuld have more articulation, 2. The panels that are the wings should be part of the legs, 3 the optimus prime an trailer were full leader class scale, 4. Change that ugly crach armour that looks like a hary diper to some thing decent thats not over detailed and matches optimus prime's esthetics, 5. Give it a base mode with more wepons, 6.This would have worked as power master optimus prime format. Overall this was probably a $90 brick from target. Aslo would be extra cool to have a god bomber with it. Look I love optimus prime super modes its just that this is defently a mist opportunity.

@OmegaDestroyerX G12 was a total mess that only Bandai and only twice. I think they learned there lesson. This reminds me a lot of Freedom Gundam's fully spread wings and it's a shame the trailer wheels don't collapse in, they kind of stick out.

so he's just an over-sized Anime Prime. the cab's actually Optimus, and the trailer's a power up. that's exactly how it works in the Unicron Trilogy, ergo, whoever designed this watched the anime recently enough to Americanize that concept of Optimus.

+Aliesterus L Yes, and all that combo is because of Beast Wars: Optimus Prime was meant to be a Bat against Megatron's T-Rex form, but they changed to a Gorilla to keep the team all in proper mammals (they added Nightscream in Beast Machines for that, I think). Instead, they had him own a jet pack to fly around during season 1 until he died. After that, I think all primes had a flight attachment (dunno about Car Robots/RID1, but the Unicron Trilogy Optimuses had the flying fusions, Animated Optimus got himself a flight mode as well, Prime Beast Hunters as well, along with RID(2) and, of course, the movies).
