Nafplio was the first capital of the new Greek state after the revolution of 1821... When Greece became a kingdom, the first king of Greece, Otto, second son of the king of Bavaria, moved the capital to Athens for historical reasons.. At that time Athens was a village around the Acropolis destroyed by the Greco-Turkish war... greetings from Greece All your videos is really good

Apart from the graffiti on the shipwreck, the large words on the hull are the first words from a poem by Giannis Potamianos. A rough translation of the poem is as follows: For whoever on the horizon before you proudly stands. Like a broken sailor You see the ships setting sail You remember the seagulls On dreamlike flights to play With the foam on the wave Like a castaway kneeling in the sand You are staring at the sea No hope of travel Only with memories and dreams From ports and journeys Of waving handkerchiefs And guiding words. Excerpt from the poem The Shipwreck by Yiannis Potamianos. Great videos guys, keep up the good work! I've been to all the places you showed on your videos in Greece, absolutely stunning places.

I still have a lot of catch up to your current videos but over the last 4 months or so I've been watching your March 2019 - March 2020 series bit by bit. Just bumped on to your channel and first watched the episode on Highway 93 through the Canadian Rockies. I live in Edmonton and over last 30+ years, traveled through 93 many many times. It's definitely one of the most scenic routes in the world. I just finished watching this episode on Peloponnese. Greece is our most beloved country to visit and we have been there three times. Our first visit was in 2014 when we traveled through Peloponnese and visited many of the places you've mentioned in this video and also Delphi, Olympia, Meteora. We also visited Santorini and Turkey during that trip. We were fortunate enough to have world's best tour guide who took us around the Peloponnese. Watching your video, brought back many wonderful memories! Thank you for a great job!

Oh you guys made my day!! My parents are from Mani and l have just come back home to Australia after a magical week in Kardamyli and Stoupa. Foneas beach is my fave. It's so busy in summer it was lovely to see you have it all to yourselves. If you ever get the chance again drive up to the mountain villages above Kardamyli like Exohori or Tseria and check out the spectacular Viros gorge. The hiking is amazing.

Maybe you will island hop next time! I also love to travel off season even though the weather can be tricky it’s more affordable and I get to meet locals and have the beaches to myself. Ever since I started swimming in the winter I love it more that summer swims. It’s an rejuvenating challenge that I recommend (wim hof challenge)😄 Both hair styles are cool btw! Great video and I am so happy you visited Nafplio. Just one note the peninsula overlooked by palamidi is also a castle about 3500 years old and you can find some great artifacts in the archaeological museum as well like the most ancient complete armour in the world. Kalamata is also a nice town quite modern but nothing bits the scenery and vibes is Nafplio. Another place to visit is the castle town of Mystras near Sparta if you ever come again it's a great destination.

I just love your cinematography, the editing and music choices of your videos. You put in a lot of effort to get your shot, and it shows in the quality of material that you produce. Well done! When watching this video, it reminded me of a photographic error that I made when I was in Epidaurus. I stood in the exact center of the ancient theatre and tried to get a picture of the whole theatre by taking a panoramic shot. What the picture turned out to be was a perfect set of stone bleachers, and not the beautiful theatre that it was.

From the site "Greek reporter": A tiny church in Greece’s Peloponnese dating from the 11th or the 12th century is a miracle of nature, and for the faithful, a sign of God’s power. Religious pilgrims and sightseers alike come to visit Saint Theodora, near the village of Vasta, 30 km from the town of Megalopoli, in Arcadia, to admire the seventeen oak trees that sprout from the roof and walls of this tiny chapel without any visual evidence of roots.

The beach near Kardamyli is called Foneas beach, it's pretty isolated in March but during the summer months is quite popular. The whole peninsula is quite the destination though. But even broader than that, one can start from Western Messinia, continue along the Messinian Gulf, Taygetos and Mani peninsula, the Laconian Gulf, Cape Maleas and finally of course Elafonisos.

My opinion, you should be make a trip at the best part of Peloponesse, Messinia region(Kalamata, Pylos, Kardamili, Finikounta, Koroni, Methoni, Neda waterfalls, Polilimnio waterfalls, Kalamari waterfalls, Gialova.) Yes you have passed from Kalamata but you've should also visit it,it's more beautiful than Nafplio. Don't judge a city without visit it. Huuuuge mistake. Kalamata is the most Famous city of Peloponesse at this time and one of the most famous of Greece. Such a huge mislabel from you. Huuuuge. It's the most shiny city of Peloponnese. Gray really?Because of one day? Bad bad judge.
