You know... this channel has provided so much entertaining and well produced content. Tony, Chelsea, the team, and their networks have put out so much quality stuff. It must get boring & trying at times to produce so much content for us nitpicking/obsessive types. It really shows just how much passion they have for photography. Thank-you.

Dear Tony, I appreciate your work and think that you are maybe the most trustworthy camera reviewer, like Judd Cutis for audio, and Marques Brownlee for phones and other tech gear. I had also a question, as everybody else the same question. I have a small youtube channel with taking head style videos, I filming myself alone. I want to buy a camera, until now I have filmed with my iphone and had some experience with olympus omd m10, but have had a frustrating experience with AF. So I thought about Canon 80d but it hase no 4K, could you recomand me a camera between 1000-1500 USD without lens.

thank you in advance

Sorry, literally nothing exists like that. Lots of cameras have 4k but they won't track focus on your face good enough for that type of video or they don't have a flip-forward screen.

With 1500 UsD you might buy a Sony a6500 + a HD camera monitor, or any PC monitor with an HDMI input. But you wouldn't want to go around bringing that PC monitor everywhere finding a plug, along with all those gears. If you gonna film in 1 place, maybe, if you move around a lot, buy a monitor with battery.

I personally use my a6300 + streaming to my Sony phone (actually it can be any phone you have). Both have to mount on a rig cage. Total set around 1300$, without lenses

If you're filming a stationary talking head shot why would you require tracking AF? When I shoot talking head / upper body for YT I just get the focus set and flip it over to manual.

I feel like renting a space like that would be a lot more fun to take photos in. You’re right about the backdrops. Mine is a pain and it’s paper which is worse cause I can’t wipe off foot prints. I would love to have the freedom of not worrying about the edges of a small backdrop. Too much stress lol.

Hey Tony! Thanks for great value stuff. One question left: what is the light setup used in this very shooting? It seems to be anything else but those four white fluorescent overhead light fixtures all the time. Am I right?
@TimberGeek6 жыл бұрын
That'd be fun to build but I suspect I'd never use it. It occurred to me recently that aside from the 2 weddings I've barely shot an entire roll worth of posed people in ~47 years.
