Solid video with great eye care advice. I like my PhotoFusion lenses btw but I do keep a pair of polarised sunglasses in the car just in case. Great filming, can tell a lot of work went into making it, wonderful countryside, really enjoyable watch. Well done.

Thank you for your great videos about eye health. I spend most of my day outdoors. I usually purchase 2 pairs of basic Transitions. I have switched over to the generic photochromic lenses and invested in purchasing a few pairs of mirrored tinted sunglasses. People do stare when I wear sunglasses on cloudy days.

I've come again to this video after getting my zeiss smartlife sv lenses with photofusion extra grey (duravision platinum) few days ago..wow..its really on a whole different level than the essilor transition gen 8 that previously being used..the duravision platinum coating is having 5-10% lesser reflections than the crizal sapphire hence the clarity..the smartlife lenses is definitely sharper and having much lesser distortion than my previous pair of lenses..i would advice to get the photofusion extra grey if you guys were the essilor transition user..the normal photofusion grey is a bit lighter than the gen 8..

I had transitions in the graphite green years ago and wasn’t happy with them but I am interested in the photo fusion and the flash coatings. Where I am, I can order Zeiss lenses but my doctor is a Hoya partner so only have demos of their lenses. I work indoors and like the look of the ruby finish outside. My worry is that the flash coating would be too visually distracting indoors. Your video showed a still of it clear but when it moves around under a light source indoors is it quite pronounced? I was going to originally go with the smartlife individual progressive with the platinum if coating and I love how clear they are and the slight blue you can see

@thespectaclefactory
@thespectaclefactory 2 жыл бұрын
No conventional photochromic lenses are good for driving as the windshield inhibits activation via UV. You could try sensity dark, which goes to about 50% behind the windshield. I always recommend either brown or green photocrhomic for driving. You could order them from us if you wanted?

I'd like to get a pair of PhotoFusion X + Duravision Flash, with progressive prescription, but I am afraid that wearing them indoor would appear too dark for others, and I may not see things clearly due to the dim lighting conditions. If I am indoor more often than the outdoors, will getting the Duravision Flash be an "over-kill?"

Hello, thank you for your videos. The diamond flash with the photofusion is very good on paper, unfortunately, unless I am mistaken, it is not possible to add an anti-glare treatment. I see the reflection of my eyes and the light coming from behind me in the glass, it is very uncomfortable. My optician agrees to redo lenses without the flash but with an anti-glare.

Any feedback on Hoya Nulux Identity V+ (ind: 1.6), and any comparison with Zeiss? Any thought on Hoya HiVision Long Life vs. Zeiss DuraVision Platinum?
@thespectaclefactory
@thespectaclefactory 2 жыл бұрын
Hoya are the masters of coatings - I think LongLife edges it. Both Zeiss Individual and Hoya Identity V+ are excellent lenses. However, incorporating iScription into Zeiss is a game changer and makes them easily the better option. Of course, it's important to use digital centration equipment to get the maximum benefit from either of these lens types.

This is a really great video. I like the style of the flash mirror. Are there any disadvantages to adding Duravision Flash to Photofusion lenses? Namely... 1) Can this cause the wearer see any distracting reflections under certain situations (e.g. indoors under bright lights)? 2) Will the flash mirror darken your view noticeably more, compared to if you didn't have it?
@thespectaclefactory
@thespectaclefactory 4 жыл бұрын
1) I personally haven't noticed it, but one or two of my clients have. There is more chance of internal reflection if you choose a larger and/or flatter frame. But they have always adjusted to it quite quickly. 2) The silver option darkens your view slightly, but the others don't in any noticeable way.
@ceruleanstone
@ceruleanstone 4 жыл бұрын
@@thespectaclefactory Thanks. And would you say that internal reflections from a silver flash mirror might be more noticeable than for, say, red or blue? I'm considering a silver flash on Photofusion Grey on a smaller frame (was considering it over Extra-Grey, but maybe not if the silver flash already darkens the view a bit). Any thoughts or considerations on this combo?
@thespectaclefactory
@thespectaclefactory 4 жыл бұрын
@@ceruleanstone When we say 'silver', we really mean 'white', because the colour is achieved by the lens reflecting all wavelengths of light. That is why it is more prominent than say the ruby which just reflects red/pink. The silver finish on an extra grey lens would be quite tinted indoors. Some people want that look. Some people don't... By the way, why get photochromic lenses in a smaller frame? Do you mean smaller than mine in the video? Because the lenses won't protect your eyes properly if so.
@ceruleanstone
@ceruleanstone 4 жыл бұрын
@@thespectaclefactory I have a very high minus Rx, so even with high index lenses, I need smaller frames to avoid the whole coke bottle thing. The frames I've got have a 50mm eye width, so definitely smaller than what you've got in this video. I wish I could wear any size frame, but the larger ones are heavy and don't look as good for my situation. I'll think some more on whether I want the flash mirror. This would be for a second pair, so I don't need them to be totally clear indoors, but it's nice to have the versatility. I'm interested in the flash mirror just to add some extra character, as you say, but I think a silver/white flash mirror would go better with my frames than a red one. The red over brown looks great on the ones in the video, though.

I am wearing an Oakley Holbrook XS with Xtractive Gray and Flash Green Mirror finish. It is great outdoors but when I am indoors I can see my pupils on the back lenses and scattered reflections which is very distracting that it is hard to concentrate. I asked the optician if he could do anything to adjust it but he said it is because of the light reflections. The Shamir Autograph Intelligence that I have has anti glare coating at the back of the lens and mirror coating on the front. He said he can't do anything about it but he'll remake the lenses without the mirror. I opted to a 30% blue tint plus the Xtractive Gray. We'll see how it turns out.
