I just picked up one of these as my first proper car back in December and have been looking into all the possibilities for overlanding and mods. This is honestly such a great video and I appreciate all the info from this. Love the molle panels and patches on the interior as well as the DIY skids and underbody work.

Always cool to see a fellow r51 lover especially with it being such an underused platform

Just awesome! Waiting for years to get a in detail run down of that legendary pathfinder! Thank you! Would be great if you could dive deeper into detail with the rear suspension/subframe shop. Or for normal guys which shock combo didn't work out in the back and why. (waiting for my 2.5 armada length radflos atm which I really hope will fit.) Best wishes from Germany!

Thanks for the kind words.. here is a walk around video of the last pathfinder I built kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6TXpYqdoM2gY6s One thing to note when I started building these it was before there was aftermarket support. The weak point is the lack of rubber on the rear arm pivots so when you ask them to actually move (lift springs longer shocks) they start to fall apart. I remedied this by cutting out the factory bushing and replaced it with a poly bushing kit for a track bar. The armada swap was a cost effective way to get more overall width for Vic on his truck because he still runs my crazy 7” wider long travel kit. Although the armada rear subframe bolts on I’m still not 100% on the wires for the rear tone rings and if they will be close enough in size to run the speedo and 4wd system I’ll know more by the end of the week.

Without writing a book the best setup for a pathfinder in the rear using the stock IRS would be to get a set of progressive lift coils and a set of extended travel radflo’s made for the pathfinder mounts. They can be re valved to be stiffer or softer depending on need. The armada shocks mount to the actual frame of the truck and stand more upright by laying them down like in the stock pathfinder mounts you will be changing the dampening rate hopefully you have enough lift and won’t bottom the shocks out before hitting the mechanical stop on the arms.

@@theclan4adventures short update on the Armada rear shocks for the pathy.... CJD Racing screwed me over and didn´t forward my order to radflo. Been waiting 20 weeks for nothing. But hopefully get my cash back ..... As i´m in the market for rear shocks again would it be okay for you if I´ll drop you a DM?

I've come across a pathfinder with a 5" lift. It's for sale but doesn't start. Hopefully all the stars align and I purchase it !

Nice build. Have you run into anyone who has solid axle swapped an r51 front and rear?

Yeah we know a guy… his r51 is swapped front and rear…” pro_r51 “ he is now on 40’s I think.

Hey mate absolutely love this how much for you to send over a lift kit like this for mine here in Aussie ?

After wheeling our trucks for years I would recommend a titan swap (titan lower control arms) aftermarket upper control arms(titan) and a titan swap steering link along with titan swap axles. Remember when I built all this stuff there was no aftermarket support for Nissans like this. Now there is .. In the rear you could do a full armada sub frame swap like Vic has done or a drop bracket subframe drop for the rear along with better springs and shocks. If you really wanted to be like Vic you can order a titan long travel race kit and put that on your pathfinder but it’s tricky

Is the wear on the inside back tire due to the armada parts swap? I have an 07' I'm wanting to set up like this
@theclan4adventures2 жыл бұрын
No the wear on his tires was from the original pathfinder arms having bad bushings. Causing a crazy toe in condition I have some new footage of him doing some testing but I’m waiting till I’m back in az to finalize the video should have it up in a month or so

I’m curious if you could swap a rear solid axle from a frontier into the pathy, I’m currently building mine slowly and was just curious if anyone has went this route that you know of and if so how difficult was it compared to the armada swap?
@theclan4adventures2 жыл бұрын
A titan rear axle would be best but a frontier would be ok I almost did swap my silver pathfinder with a titan and Chevy leaf springs there is a pathfinder with full Dana 44 front and rear.. he is in this years “ultimate adventure”

@@stevenlorkiewicz7747 the pathfinder and armada are separate chassis codes here in the us although both are called “pathfinder” in other countries. The sub frame for a first gen armada 2005-2014 I believe will bolt onto any r51 pathfinder chassis 2005-2014.
