To be fair, you do want narrow wheels to reduce rolling resistance. But you want them to be sturdy. Bicycle wheels can't take this kind of weight.

@@anthonymuncey4537 Thing with bikes in general, including mountain bikes, is that they're designed with the idea that any forces encountered are going to be directly parallel to the face of the wheel since you're ideally going to be leaning into the turns. You don't have that luxury on a soapbox car, and as a result the wheels are exposed to significantly more sideways forces.
