Isn't it great to feel like a grill master?! Take this recipe and make it yours. Lock in the moist tenderness of a Filet Mignon and let it soak up the goodness of smoking oak and maple in this simple steak recipe.
Keeping it simple with this mouth watering, reverse sear Filet Mignon recipe on the traeger (amzn.to/3NXrfua).
Ingredients:
Filet Mignon (or steak of choice)
Oak Ridge Seasoning (amzn.to/44a7Fki)
Stick of Butter
Thyme
Rosemary
Garlic Cloves (or minced garlic)
Aluminum foil
1) Set out steaks 1 to 2 hours before cooking to bring up to room temperature (time depends on thickness of steaks)
2) When ready to cook, Set traeger to smoke, let warm up for about 15 minutes
3) Place steaks on top shelf
4) Create dripping tray from aluminum foil or use cooking sheet to melt butter and catch drippings from steak
5) Combine butter, thyme, rosemary, and mince or crush garlic before putting on tray to get the most flavor out of the garlic
6) Once butter and is melted, take a basting brush and begin basting the top of the steaks while on the grill
7) Bast first side right away when the butter melts and for a second time about 10-15 minutes later
8) Flip steak about 15-20 minutes (depending on thickness of steak) and based other side right away and again about 10-15 minutes later.
9) Pre-heat Gas Grill with lid closed after flipping the steaks so the internal temperature becomes as hot as possible
10) Remove steaks and transfer to gas grill. Press down on the steak to get the grill marks.
11) Depending on thickness, give steak a half turn after 30 seconds to 1 minute on first side.
12) Flip steak and repeat steps 10 and 11
13) Remove steak and let rest
14) Circle back to your traeger and pour the butter mixture from your pan into a dish so you can bast the steak while it is resting for the ultimate flavor.
