ultimate ROAST chicken on STEAM AIRFRY

My favourite way to roast chicken is using the Steam Airfry function on my Ninja Foodi 11n1, it produces delicious succulent chicken with a crispy skin - oh boy it's so good but what's even better is it also produces the best chicken stock water I use for the gravy. I use instant as do not have the time to make it from scratch but the stock water makes the instant gravy taste like the ultimate best homemade gravy ever and I really love GRAVY!
Don't forget I have a COSORI DUAL BASKET comp going on, go check out the latest COSORI review for more info on that esp if you'd like to win one

Looks delish Kerry. If there's room under the rack maybe you could add some veg and herbs to add to the flavour to the water. Once done, just discard the veg and make your gravy as you usually do.

If you don’t have the Foodi. Then you can steam by putting a bit of water in the drip tray of your drawer air fryer. It works well too. You might need to replace it which I do when I’m checking the temperature. Your chicken looks amazing. Steam air fry in the Foodi has become something of legend!

Morning Kerry, your chicken looks amazing, I've cooked one in the speedi on the same setting. I made the beef on Monday cooking it on dehydrate, and wow, it was the nicest I've ever tasted. Definitely one I recommend you trying. It did take 6 hours to cook, but worth it. Xxxx 💚 ♥️

@budgetcookinguk I've sent you an email with photos of mine so that you can see it. 1.1kg, 6 hrs on 60, then a/f 10 mins on 200. No preheat. I just put salt, garlic, and mixed herbs on mine. Lots do Mustard as a coating. I was so apprehensive about doing it, and my friend made hers, and it looked amazing, so I thought stuff it. Harrison loved it as well. Please, try it. Xxxx 💚♥️

@budgetcookinguk Have you roasted a cheaper cut of meat in the airfryer? I love a shoulder of pork and although the crackling is perfect in the airfryer, the joint isn't as 'pull apart tender' as when it is cooked very slowly in the oven.

Kerry…. Can I ask, you have probably already shown this but I have come over from your gardening channel… can you explain the ninja . Santa treated me in the January sales but I’ve not yet got it out the box. I think mine is same as yours 9.5 ltr, looks same. Ide like info on difference between air fry, bake settings etc, which settings are best for different things, what can you use inside.. eg… glass? Tin? Foil etc… and mine seems to have a temperature probe? Basically a quick course for dummies 🤣 Best wishes x

So I usually use airfry setting to cook sausages, bacon, to 'fry' onion, or certain veg. Roast setting for roast potatoes, chicken etc, bake for cakes, or pastries. There is no hard or fast rule, the fan speed is faster from airfry, becoming a bit gentler on bake. Rule of thumb, cooking is a lot faster in an Airfryer than an oven, so keep checking food, temps can be 10/20c lower than set oven temps when following a recipe. Start with easy stuff. What sort of food to you like to eat/cook?

@@budgetcookinguk thank you🤗 I like roast vegetables and meats.. pork loin steaks, chicken, tuna/salmon. The roast veg on your video looked delicious, also want to try roast beetroot with garlic as heard it’s lovely. Have you tried boiled eggs in the ninja? Obviously not boiled 😆 but keep seeing people do them on fb , basically just laying the eggs on the crisper plate and they come out perfect🤷‍♀️ mine will probably explode 😆

I am vegetarian but the hubster eats meat. Obviously I can't use a whole joint of chicken at a meal, buy would it be possible to cook a single chicken breast in the ninja and if so how long do you think I might cook it for, and would it be at the same temperature as for a whole chicken? Thank you. happy cooking 😃 x

@budgetcookinguk 9 ай бұрын
Be I've tried to find the answer with not a lot of luck, if you do not mind waiting, I will cook one myself. Do you do anything with hubby's chicken breasts? I tend to wrap with bacon if cooking chic breast but haven't cooked it for a long time, so haven't cooked them in an AF yet! I'll get some chic brts in my next weekly shop and give it a go on steam airfry😀👍👍💕

@@bewoodford2807 it's no problem at all Be, I would definitely wrap the chic breast in bacon, cook on 180c for about 15mins? Could always add a few mins (do you have a temp probe?) Plus add 250ml water. 😀👍 I definitely will try it but might cook 4 wrapped in bacon.

I have cooked Beef on the steam/airfry setting in Ninja my 15 to 1 and used the probe (rather than the Beef pre-set function) which allows you to select either rare, medium rare, medium or well done and it cooks beautifully (I went for medium rare) without you needing to estimate the cooking time. I have also cooked Lamb, Pork and Chicken using this function and all have turned out well (if cooking Chicken or Pork using the probe, naturally your only given the option of well done for Chicken and with pork I think it was medium or well done). Point to note when I cooked the Beef on this function and selected medium rare, when I tested the meat the temperature was lower than I was expecting but I went with it and wrapped the joint in foil and covered with a towel to rest and about 30 minutes later when I checked the Beef again the temperature had risen by 10 degrees and was perfect.

it's 23.45hrs and i really shouldn't be thinking food :D i now have a crave for chicken which, tbh isn't really something i like to buy in germany as 99% of chicken meat comes from one of those disgusting chicken farms and really honks when cooked. maybe a chat with the butcher up the road though. a couple of juicy chicken legs maybe . i got an extra present from my not-adopted sisters for christmas/birthday , one of those sets for the ninja with 2 pans and 2 trivets which i have discovered are perfect for airfrying meat on, well bratwursts for now, they turn out much better on the trivets rather than on the crisper trays so that is how i'd do chicken legs too. am now going to try and lose the drool as i try yet again to sleep :D
