Fantastic episode! Peter and his combination of collector's passion, entrepreneurial energy and genuine respect for the industry and his customer base makes for a great and authentic figurehead for SGC, very nice showcase here! And Jason's collection was stellar and a fun and unique example of an era that's not so often given much of a spotlight in the hobby. As a fellow kid who collected in the mid-late 90's the jordan upper deck game worn patches kicked off an era of jersey patches that were mythical cards you dreamt of as you read beckett. Coming back in 2016 and forward it was an adjustment to see how the modern proliferation of "walmart rack worn" patches and such had eroded that former reverence for jersey patch cards.

It would have been one of the first pokemon cards , I collected Magic and pokemon briefly when they first came out. What they don't show, is that pokemon card was included in the collection, but these guys are 1/1s and bought it separate even though it was going to be included! They wanted to get the kids involved and teach them lifelong lessons which I respect 1000%.

@@CHASINGCARDBOARD I googled them how am I wrong they ranged from 300-10,000 idk I've been watching mojo sports and Josh and card collector I've seen those exact card go for a lot all you have to do is sent them to PSA he obviously took care of them... Plus I'm sure a lot of those other ones are mint condition. Those are my era too early 2000's they are some of the biggest cards you can find especially the jersey worn and actual signatures on cards cuz now they do stickers and put them on cards. I'm not here to say you took advantage of the guy I'm just making a comment brotha that's all anyone who saw that vid is thinking the same thing. Just being honest. 20 k was a steal for all of those. I'm sure you were ecstatic when you got that collection. I woulda been. There's no way you appraise those at 20 k not knowing you have some big winners there. Let's be real bud. I'm just a honest man I'm not bashing you or your content just being real. The only issue I saw is it's gonna take time to go through all of those but your deff know there's big money there let's be honest now. I know I wouldn't have offered 20 k if it wasn't worth double

Curtis - there is a WIDE range of cards from that set. These are the base RC's.. they are a few hundred (upwards of $350) each IF they grade as PSA 10's... They didn't grade 10's. And we appreciate the comment. Just correcting your assumptions, that's it.

Not even 5% of the collection was featured. The 1/1s , the basketball, 750+ Brady cards, they can only get so much in a youtube video. They will be able to turn a high profit off of it so don't let the short video fool you. It has to be edited down to fit into a show. We both walked away happy and that's all that matters, I truly want them to make the most out of it.

I'm pissed at all grading companies still and will be until they bring prices back to reality like the hobby has came back to. All of them should have at least a $12 or less option by now. It's hard to find anything modern graded 9 or lower that will even make back your grading fee. SGC is fast but the slab is cheapest looking and feeling in the hobby. Besides high value vintage they still don't come close to most PSA values yet charge almost the same to grade.

Peter said SGC is as "transparent as we possibly can". Then why no grading notes? Set up a template for the grader to click. It would add less than 30 seconds to the process. Sgc prices are catching up to psa prices with psa quickly. I’ve been picking up sgc cards and they are consistent and has quick turn around.

I absolutely love these episodes. You do an amazing job of bringing to life the backstory behind the deal. As a lifelong sports card collector (since 1977), I love to learn about other’s collecting journeys. Also, I am a huge fan of SGC, so that segment was fantastic. And, the production quality is akin to something you would find on a major television network. Just spectacular. Thank you for delivering us this content. Keep up the great work. Yeah, we had to scale back some behind the scenes footage... they want to protect their IP, which we totally respect.

SGC has been nothing but great to me. Their customer service when you have a question is top notch, the grading makes you remember not all cards are gems (regardless of ones personal opinion), on top of turn around time. Even my wife who isn't into the hobby loves the slabs, it's the only reason she doesn't nag when I tell her she has to sign for a package haha
