To me no one is never fully healed but the key is learning to use those tools that you discover ed in therapy on how to deal with people problems situations life in general and remember to smile even in the fire

Hey Maya, I’m glad you are open about therapy. I tell my clients that healing is a journey. Utilize the tools you learned in therapy, and put theory into practice. Healing looks different for everyone. If you notice that you aren’t managing your “triggers” well, take a step back and reflect on what’s happening for you mentally and emotionally. If I notice that my clients are making great progress, I suggest reducing the frequency of our sessions. I just started my KZbin channel on trauma and mental health. Wish me luck ❤

I think apart of healing is actually being in other relationships and allowing yourself to use your new tools to behave differently. Healing is really a life long journey but the good thing is life doesn’t stop because of it ❤

I concur with literally everyone below. As a therapist myself, I learned while doing the work that there is no such thing as being "fully healed". We are constantly refining ourselves and going through changes in life so we can expect that some healing is going to be required in each and every season of our lives, so I pray that you continue to have a graceful response to what healing calls you to. It truly is hard ass work.

Maya I am 10 year older than you and loss both my mom (56) and grandma same year about one month apart due to Cancer. Here’s I can share with you the only way to MOVE ON IS TO MOVE. Move mentally, move spiritually, move physically. STOP accepting what doesn’t bring you HAPPINESS. STOP doubting your DECISIONS, you already made them . STOP looking to the left or right of you and MOVE FORWARD. When you pause time and life keeps going. Remember just like you have nature your friendships for them to grow nature YOU

Maya, you know know when you are healed when you are re-introduced to similar situations they hurt you but you respond in a different way. Healing does not necessarily mean you will not put yourself in the same situation feeling simply just means when you are introduced to the similar situation that hurt you you respond differently. I hope and wish so many blessings on your journey

Maya, hey girl! I caught this video while scrolling through yt. Happy Sunday! Your wash day routine for your sew in gave me flashbacks 😂 I was wearing that style for a couple months and couldn’t wait to take it out! The maintenance, the damage, and the smell you can’t fully wash out drove me crazy. I’m wearing a pixie cut now (no relaxer) and I feel free and my hair is the easiest part of my day. I cut off all the damaged hair and my scalp never itches and I can run my hands though it. I know sew-ins are trending right now but, black women, we need to do better with caring for the hair that grows out of our heads. There’s no reason we should be constantly starting from scratch when it comes to hair care. I’m sharing this because it seems that women are willing to damage their natural hair, just to blend it with hair that’s not their own. Itchy scalp is not good and we need to stop wearing these styles that only damage our roots overtime.

This was a great video, Maya. Thanks for your vulnerabiltiy. As someone who was in therapy for years and continues to do maintenance as needed, I’d encourage you, if money is not a factor, to not rush scaling back therapy. As others have said, there’s not really an end state to healing imo; rather I believe it’s about having the tools at the ready within yourself and externally to ensure you’re on the right track.

I think its great to remember that we are always growing and changing. Emotions are fleeting and there will always be another time when we get hurt by life but its what you do with that hurt that ultimately matters. Thats why on my channel I make it a point to tell people that self-care isnt just buying luxury skincare and going for a spa day, its about the little steps and work we put into ourselves every day. Nonetheless, this was a great video!

Happy Sunday beautiful! 👋🏾🤗😊 I know when I am healed from the offense of others when if thoughts or conversations regarding it arise I FEEL differently about it. Not just in the way I view it because that is definitely part of it, but more importantly the way it makes my heart feel or “not feel” cus we know pain hurts. Like at times for me depending on the offense it has felt like my heart physically hurt💔. But when God fully heals me, chiiiillleee✨♥️ we move on, we be good and we are ready 🤲🏾 for bigger and better whatever that looks like🙌🏾.

Hey Maya! I use to be an avid reader and got away from it from just life. I just recently got a Kindle because 2024 is going to be the year that I get back into reading. I’ve completed 3 books so far. Before I let go by Kennedy Ryan, Blossom in Winter by Melanie Martins and Verity by Colleen Hoover. They were all good reads.

Hi Maya! Only 1/4 into the vlog, but to answer your question, I don’t think that anyone is fully healed because of constant life adversities and triggers. But I do believe with therapy and processing your emotions and focusing on your core values, then it’s not going to have an effect on you the way that it use to. Hope this helps!

Hey Maya. I used to do therapy every week, but now I do every other week. There’s been times when I’ve done every two weeks. I think healing isn’t linear so you’ll always have triggers but once you’re putting the tools you’ve learned in therapy to use and you’re not hurting about the things that used to hurt you, then you’re more healed.
