As a beginner, Stay with center Ball, center High and center low until you can runout a game (8,9 or 10 ball) It will teach you to play the table using natural angles, to identify pocket lines and play position for the next ball. These are the most important parts of the game. It is not until you have reached a level where you have run out a game, that it might be time to include spin and safety play. 😊

You know what’s great about your lesson you get right to the point! I mean in 5 minutes of this video I learn more about what the cue ball and object ball are doing. Dr Dave is no teacher he milks everything but I guess that’s what you have to do when your selling videos, milk everything and say nothing. Hands down you are the very BEST!

So much to remember 😂 I also follow Lil Chris and he discusses FHE vs. BHE, and he doesn't know why it works the way it works. This video complements his because i now understand why there is a difference between the two types of English. I think the key here is just practicing these individual shots over and over to get the feel and not focus so much on mathematics and physics. That's making my head spin more than any cue ball could.

Great tutorial. So much information to digest. In a future video can you talk about cue tip types and maintenace. I am very interested in how different tips types may help with using spin in your game or whether it doesn't matter that much or is just a reflection of personal preference and how the hit feels. thanks again.

I’m about 1/3 of the way through the video and enjoying it very much, but a couple of things. Not just this video but many intense ones I’ve seen now make me wonder how I ever managed to play decent pool (now I see I was not that good but I won a lot of games, playing bar patrons so it doesn’t really count) and make shots with all the variables. Also thinking that there are so many options, it’s mind boggling. For others like me, I see that after learning more about billiards, for a while my game has gone downhill, with he occasional great shot with cue ball position after, but the more one practices the new techniques, it gets better. Seems like my newfound knowledge makes me miss shots (just slightly) that I would have made not trying English, but then comes a feel and suddenly it works. In the meantime my control of the cue ball after shots also is going in the right direction, but most often too much and other times too little.
@xeyedsurfer
@xeyedsurfer 7 ай бұрын
If you are playing shots you know you will make them but improve very slowly but if you are experimenting, misses happen frequently. In the end you will become a better player much faster. Learn from every shot you make OR miss.

To adjust for deflection just pivot the cue for the spin. Don't go down on a shot with the spin because you are lined up for the deflected angle. If you pivot you move off the angle like you showed. Much easier to adjust.

Can you do a video on how to fix Eye and Head alignment. This has been a big problem for me and alot of other people I have talked to. Alot of times when I get down on a shot I feel like my eyes see the cue kinda like its bending or tilted. Maybe it has something to do with the dominant eye or that I cannot perfectly get my head to be straight on the cue as sometimes my head is slightly tilted and i dont know how to fix that. All of that makes my aim perception akward and I am uncertain if i am shooting straight. Thanku for hearing me out and keep the videos up🎉

so, with the deflection increasing with more velocity...you make a really good argument for using table speed. Besides controlling the cue ball better. I have to constantly be on guard against over hitting my shots. Too many sports played where we murder the ball with the stick I guess...hehehe

Great video! Can I ask when aiming with side spin, after we compensate for everything, where is the aiming line pointing to on the ghost ball? E.g., with right spin, does the tip point from the right side of the cue ball to the center of the ghost ball, or to the right side of the ghost ball? Thanks!
@Sharivari
@Sharivari 7 ай бұрын
That's difficult to explain. I think I should cover this in a video. The short answer: I don't use a ghostball that I am aiming to, but a ghostball that tells where the cue ball should arrive at the object ball.
