I found it very good to maintain a good car battery especially when the car isn't used much. Leave it always on and connected. Watch out for a power cut as it reverts to stand by and have to press the program button again for it to charge. It only cost me €15 for the latest C1 model giving 5amps and with an LCD screen. Connect to the battery terminals first then to the mains and switch on. That way there is least possibility of a spark.

I took out my car battery to test this charger I bought few days ago, and it takes a while to charge it to 100%. It's been 18h since I connected it at 13.5V and it's at 14.2V now, still charging.

ok so I have a question: Why does it say 14.4 and 14.7 V for charging modes 3 and 4 (car and winter) - but when it finished charging your battery, it shows 13 V on the screen? Shouldn't it charge to 14.4 V?

I have it and it's good. I'm happy with it. There are a few downsides: - it doesn't have the trickle charger connection for motorcycles like the older version - it doesn't have the power or the option to jumpstart your car if you can't turn on your car on a cold morning. You have to precharge it or you're screwed - the screen illumination doesn't turn off

@@MrDexi87 it's not bad. There are more expensive chargers with less features. It has trickle charging so you can leave it connected, it has overcharging and reverse polarity protection, illuminated screen and charging indication, a couple of automatic modes and automatic voltage protection. The build quality is decent and the product is cheap and you get a warranty. What more do you need?

You're using it incorrectly.. you have to press the mode button until you see three dashes flashing between the voltage.. that's testing mode.. it'll run that for about 2 mins and then it'll select motorcycle mode itself and start charging.. you THEN select car mode and leave it do its thing 👍
