Plus, as insane as this sounds, just because she's super down to kill everyone for no good reason doesn't mean she actually dislikes any of the people that she's killing... She actually prefers to hurt people that she likes, so she can feel the pain of losing people close to her.

Junko Enoshima doesn't hate people. In fact, she actually likes a lot of people. Her whole thing is that she has this fetish for despair that override's practically any other aspect of her personality. If you removed the despair aspect of her personality she's just be a mostly normal, albeit somewhat vain girl. I tend to ignore the personality set up by Danganronpa 3 because it conflicts contextually with the first game's writing and depiction of her. In the anime, it makes her look like some physically and mentally abusive psychopath shows up at a school, breaks in, gets into confidential information, kills some people, uses Ryota Mitarai to brainwash people and everything falls apart, but it's also implied that the actions in Despair arc were spread out over a wide period of time.

Well, this is purely speculation. :b It's pretty hilarious how Junko can't stand her, though.

The villains in Danganronpa are counterparts for the main cast. They're all prodigies capable of causing the same destruction as Junko if they're allowed to do EVERYTHING based on their own talent. An example, the Ultimate Despair team that Junko created out of the sequel's cast.

These dialogues really puts some perspective on how much Junko likes her classmates. Imagine the hassle of cherry picking memories to erase, maintaining a whole vivarium to indefinitely support 16 people, and sneaking around while keeping an eye on everyone to make sure they don't break in the wrong room, just to play whodunnit with your friends. Even if you pretend DR3 doesn't exist and pretend Junko can't brainwash people, there are certainly easier ways to make 16 people kill each other in one snappy broadcast to the entire world. As bored as Junko may be during her school years, she must have valued her vanilla, boring friendship with her classmates.

Yes, when Izuru was under Junko's control - with the death of Chiaki, Junko lost control of him and Izuru became sentient. 4:00 today I realize how much I freaking love that Junko sprite. 7:21 Kokichi really loves to lead people on to things, doesn't he? Especially in the late game. 10:43 can we talk about that tiny cospox plot hole real quick? (Spoilers for chapter 6 incoming far below) She can't dress up as Kaede without the cospox, who is part of the group she deemed "fake". But why? Can she just want cospox and suddenly have it? Or are the first two games just acted out with actors? I don't understand the ending ;-;

Yup, it's very contradictory, nothing makes sense, and everything may or may not be a lie- that's the point. The ending is basically supposed represent how fiction can have a massive hold on people, and how it's powerful enough to change influence real life. + You're kind of supposed to draw you're own conclusions from the ending and decide what you want to believe.

Maybe it’s the other way around then: she can cosplay real people but not fictional characters. Therefore, V3’s cast is fiction, but the first two games cast is real. She stated a couple times about not seeing the value in fiction or something like that, so maybe that thought is what’s actually keeping her from replicating the V3 cast

For everyone saying that she's acting "too normal", I should clarify that TDP is a *bonus* game mode, so it's pretty incredible how it literally all makes sense, depending on the character you play. For most characters, it's a look into what it would have been like if the Tragedy never happened, but for some, it goes deeper. For instance, more mysterious characters, like Kokichi, Kiyo, Celeste and Nagito, have you explore what goes on in their heads more than they explore Hope's Peak, but for a select few, very, VERY important characters, it's like it's their own story. Case in point: if you watched this to the end, you have now seen the two-three years that took place BEFORE the tragedy. What happens *after* this Talent Plan is, most likely, the mass-suicide. Though it doesn't exactly align with the anime (in that it does not relate to the anime AT ALL) it is still a closer look on Junko, and how the whole "bored" side of her is amplified here, which makes sense. She goes through copious amounts of boredom to suddenly unleash what is literally always called the worst thing to happen to mankind. That, for Junko, is not boredom. In case you're curious, other super-duper important characters with similarly specific parts of the lore represented here are mostly confined to Izuru and Tsumugi. It's hard to say for certain, but Izuru is *likely* recruited by Junko at the beginning of this (just pretend Hajime isn't there) and Tsumugi is... Tsumugi. I'd guess she's likely just hanging low, and directing this season of "Danganronpa", whichever it may be, from on screen like she is in v3. Also, this is just how I see it, if anyone else has any opinions on why they think Junko is much more sane in this, I'd love to know.
