Ultimate Tiny Home Design (Luxury Van Tour)

Is this the perfect off grid tiny van? After taking this van all the way to the Australian Outback we thought it was about time we gave him a van tour! We've been full time vanlifers for over four years in the UK and Europe, but Dingo is our little Aussie Van who we bought and built within thirty days of landing in Australia and have been living in for the last three months. We built this wee guy from scratch with no tools, whilst living in a Bunnings Car Park (until the mechanic took pity and opened up his garage to us)
We tried to keep him as natural and aesthetic and open and flowy as possible, whilst also being super functional and packed with storage and capabilities to be off grid for weeks if necessary! We also built him to withstand the heat of Australian Summer.

⤈ WHO WE ARE ⤈
We are Philly and Keely and we live full time in our tiny home on wheels Martha. After building our DIY home in a Citroen Relay camper we spent a year living on the streets of London before quitting our jobs only to be met with lockdown. Then we took our van further than she had ever been before to the very beautiful Turkey. Enroute, we stopped off in Spain for a few weeks where we experienced every van lifers worst nightmare, we were robbed and they stole all valuables in our van. But then we were back on our feet, fully MOT’d and back on the road through Europe before we experienced another vanlife nightmare... our van caught fire!! After the trauma of that we had a massive change of plan and made our way to Japan. We enjoyed a three-month Japanese Adventure and then got back to Martha for some new European Adventures. After an incredible three-month Scottish road trip, we have now packed up our van and are heading to Australia for a new van life adventure!

Fabulous folks from a very envious 82 yr young Canadian who has to finally given up driving our 37 foot RV . Sigh. Ok so in my young years I slept in. Pup tent with 2 preschool children and a big dog kept in our car. I also had a square ended row boat on top of van. At night I put children to bed and worked on my essays for university by lantern. So this brings lots of memories for me. I am now a great gran! How life moves on. Glad to see you are making every day count. Thanks for allowing me to travel with you. Go for it!

You've created such a beautiful van, love the colours and the wood and baskets deco and YES keep the plant, it's the pièce de résistance. And great that you didn't go with the overly complicated batteries/inverters/fuse box/wires everywhere system and chose the much less complicated power bank option. I'm catching up with your videos after seeing you visit Campervibe. I'm in NZ and have a hiace so was very intrigued to watch you remodel the interior. My van has an L shaped lounge behind the cabin and when made up as a bed, the cushions constantly move 😵‍💫 so I now use a child's bed safety rail, which prevents my dog from dropping into the gap!

@@elaineclark7508 we stitched a fitted sheet to fit the bed, so the cushions were all kept tightly together with it, but if we didn't tuck it in right they would move too. Glad to hear you found a way to stop your dog dropping in the hole!

OK there are a lot of places in Australia where you'll get fined for having unlocked petrol containers on the external skin of the vehicle. Indeed some areas require a locking petrol tank too. So do check up the ordinances of wherever you are travelling. Loving the journey here in a somewhat soggy Scotland

Yeah literally the worst time, it was 47 degrees at one point 🥵🥵🥵 I was having heart palpitations in my sleep from it, just no relief, the Eva polar kept it 10 degrees cooler in the van, but even that is still super hot, so can't imagine what it would have been like without it

Fantastic build only thing put a plug in your sink when not using so snakes cant come up the grey water pipe that goes out bottom of your van.

Yeah accommodation is mad expensive here, even that first week in the city while trying to get viewings on vans was nuts, thank goodness we found the one quickly!
