Also for those that are wondering, I'm leaving it up to you whether or not Chara is "Evil" or "Good" to the viewer in this piece, just as how a lot of people see Chara in the game. Some people see Chara as good, some people see Chara as evil, and both sides feel that way based on real elements in the game which they determine, I want my art for Genocide to be the same way where it can be interpreted either way for both parties. I know it's probably impossible as you can't please everyone, but I'm trying to please everybody... lol XD So I tried to fit elements that cater to both audiences, but also while only uses canon elements/images, from the game, while still including my own artistic metaphors that are subjective to person to person. Such as some people might interpret Chara above Frisk manipulating Frisk to be evil and puppeteering them to kill all monster, gain LV and thus power to kill all human life outside of the underground, and thus "Evil" and stopping there. but for those that see Chara as good, you might notice that that melty face'd Chara also has strings attached to their arms just as Frisk, strings that go off the page to a person that is not seen, such as the player manipulating Chara, to manipulate Frisk, and eventually falls for the turn of horrible events to cope after the trauma they were forced into doing to those they love.
For those that don't know there's these two incredibly well thought out videos of Chara being good. Though there are some flaws in the theory (in my opinion) Overall despite that I know a lot of you guys think I see Chara as evil, (which I once did in the past) it's an incredibly well thought out argument, and I actually agree with the theory. I know there's no way I could be able to come up with a strong counter argument to protest that Chara is evil, but also, I don't blame people for their reasoning for seeing Chara evil either. again it's all based on how you interpret Chara in the game. such as the term "But nobody came." People who see Chara as good interpret it as a sad statement, proving that they are committing genocide on those they love by the forced hand of the player, and the further they go, the more people die, and when nobody comes, it proves to them of the horrors that are taking place are real. For people that interpret Chara as evil the sentence "But nobody came" comes off not sad, but creepy, that Chara, the killer is searching for more victims to murder, feeling more and more determined to continue their genocide, and is disappointed that they already killed everyone, and thus must move forward to continue their killing spree. so everyone is right to see Chara in their own interpretation of the character based on the game. Please respect each other's opinions/views XD lol but for those that haven't seen the theory/explanation on why people interpret Chara as good, check out these two videos!

((As for my Save him animation, it's part of a miscommunication on my part, but I never specified that Chara was evil in that animation. At the time of posting the animation, I did currently see Chara as evil, however I do not anymore. BUT despite that I still tried to make the animation cater to both audiences, I feel like I failed with my animation, ((which I actually explain and acknowledge in a comment below the video)) so I want to try and do a better job in my genocide speedpaint. but anyways, When Chara made their "Creepy" face in the animation, it was just to be a transition and show that their plan to save monsters had gone horribly wrong, and all the horrible outcomes that came from the failure of their plan that resulted in Asreal's death and thus Flower etc. Just to show the downward spiral of events from Asreal's point of view when S&%( hit the fan. I never explicitly said Chara was evil. but much like how people interpret thing differently, it CAN be interpreted as Chara being evil, just as how Chara CAN be interpreted as good, but much like my genocide piece, I made my animation to be up to the viewer, and never once taking one side or the other on whether or not Chara is Evil. I used the "Creepy face" as a transition to show all the hurt and occurrences of what went wrong based on the melty face of Chara at the end of Genocide, after the good times with Asreal and Chara, but it is faulty on my part for not making it more clear in the writing of my animation, that it can be interpreted as good, or bad, leaving it up to the viewer. Once again, because I failed to make it clear in my animation, I want to try and make it clearer that it can be interpreted either way, in my Genocide painting. )

I spotted many details in this speedpaint that made me love it even more. The addition of upside down, cracked in half, and slightly damaged souls in the background added more meaning to it, not to mention the giant Chara looming above Frisk and the other characters. I noticed all the characters in the state of what happened to them when they were struck and not saved. What i loved the most out of all of this was the past Chara holding flowers with tears running down her face on the right side, while Asriel what crossing his arms and having a sad expression in his face. I seen that it looked as if they both were having the expressions of their faces when they seen eachother. Loved the speed paint!

You know, here's how I like to see the whole "chara puppeteering frisk" thing in this speed paint: Over the course of a genocide route, chara slowly gains control of the game, and loses their sanity while doing so; because they now have LV from every monster in the underground. So I think, it's a sort of way to show their gained control of the game, and fall into despair.

Its more like the spirit of chara is taking over frisk's body and mind, losing their sanity on the way, but the player is the one truly in control up until the very end of the route when chara overpowers them too

Chara is not good or evil, they're only confused, thinking that genocide is the only option that the monsters have for, finally, rest in peace, they are not completely wrong about they perspective of the world and the humankind, but they are still wrong, because they are trying to take the role of a god to have the authority to decide which is the greater good, so it complicate, but the way to qualify Chara's intentions, it's not about good or evil specifically, it's about which do you think is the greater good... [for those who can understand this comparison, Chara is like Thanos, and the situation is like in the movie "The Mist"] (-)

In my opinion there are three people. The player controling chara and frisk. Chara trying to help frisk. And frisk and the player controlling the fate of all monsters. In geonocide chara ia forced by the player to countdown the left monsters till 0 and telling where the keys are in the end. Chara then breaks free from the players control to delete the world. They save monsters whit this. Giving the player the option to delete or not. They have enough determination thanks to the lv that they no longer need the players input. They are free in the end. Whit that the new order is chara player frisk in the genocide run. No matter what we do we cant stop chara from erasing the world. They are in controll now. That is my perspektive about all this

Chara is the player, they are either good or bad, kind of both. Frisk is only the body you're using, everything you do is technically what Chara is doing. It's true that it's the player's choice. But in the game the player doesn't exist, only Chara controlling Frisk to be bad or encouraging them to be good. They're both technically us but Frisk doesn't have a backstory since they're just a body I guess.

On the topic of being good or bad there is no right or wrong answer to the question of Chara. I honestly thought the genocide painting would even be faster than the pacifist painting,(5 mins longer) since there are only a few characters to draw. the color pallete of every character fits so well in the corridor, the addition of ‘nice’ chara was very accurate. The proportions are incredible, this is otherwise relaxing to watch 8/8 ratings!

i love the reference to the puppet strings in the picture. since Chara is dead, and Frisk is hungry for blood, youre just her puppet. she's there, controlling your every move. and i read the description, and i think Chara used to be good, but she turned evil. like, a force in her told her, 'They're called Monsters For A Reason.' or, someone could've hurt her when she was at the surface. I also love how Undyne and MTT NEO are reaching for Frisk... and in the game, everyone doesn't reconize you as a human, because you are a metaphoric 'monster'. like and comment if you agree and thought the 'Monster' thing was clever.

If we consider they were in player's control but wanted to ERASE the world anyway.... I think Chara is both good and evil at the same time. And when you think about it, Chara doesn't have the power to RESET. So he was trying to bring everyone back by erasing it all. Just like in DELTARUNE.

I personally believe that Chara is a truly neutral character. They didn’t force you to go through with the first genocide run, it was you who pushed the fight button. Not to mention, in the end, you’re given the option to spare Flowey. Chara HESITATES before going a lil overboard on killing him. If you ask me, that shows Chara still has compassion. However; Chara is bound to the player, so should the player choose genocide, Chara has to go along with it. Backing out of the genocide run after having completed it so many times probably annoys them (which, I don’t blame them for being pissed off considering the fact that you’ve already completed so many, why not just finish this one instead of dealing a semi-neutral run where no one wins? But alternatively, Chara proves to be far from malevolent. In fact, you hardly get any real hints that they are present! In the end, It is the player who makes the real decisions. (Aside from the whole “since when were you the one in control” thing lol) also, when Asriel says they hated humanity; bruh, look around. Can you really blame them for hating us???
