I’m a gym rat like the Warrior was and i’m building a gym in my barn as we speak. I felt such a deep kinship with Warrior. We shared the same conservative values and deeply held belief in personal sacrifice, hard work and taking ownership of all aspects of your life. That man had such a profound impact on me. I did my first workout in the barn today and I did it complete Warrior style. balls to the wall, dripping sweat and absolutely unforgiving. I know this sounds ridiculous but when I was struggling to get that last rep, I pictured Warrior screaming in my face to grind out one more.

This is probably a place she goes to remember Warrior. Sit in his gym when it is quite and remember when he was there. I do that sometimes with my past friends and family. You can almost hear their voice.

That's very bold of you....I never visit past places where people I cared about are no longer here. Mostly because it leaves sadness and loneliness, and I *HATE* that feeling! Even though I know it's all part of the healing process, I really really really hate that feeling....truly an emotion I deplore!

I emailed The Warrior back in 1999 a few days or so later I got a response from him - I didn't entertain the idea he would reply but he did so it was a nice surprise. Looking back and thinking about what he said he truly believed in the power of the individual and emphasised that we can control our destiny.
@AnEternalEnigma7 жыл бұрын
Same. I wrote him an email back in 2002 asking for advice on how to handle when someone dies but you know that people are suddenly covering up the bad things they did after their death. He wrote a great email back to me and I couldn't believe he even responded. I wish I still had it. I lost it in a hard drive crash in 2004.

I emailed him in 2004 when I was 16, I was shocked when not long after he responded. I wish I still had it. I remember his email address still which was @earthlink.com. I really miss my hero. I was lucky enough to have met him a year prior as well, still have the autograph made out to me framed on my wall amongst almost every possible piece of Warrior memorabilia that exists up to the present day. Always believe. Always.

Dana, I really enjoyed the tour of the gym and the house! It's gotta be tough to move on, but such is life, and you know he'd never have allowed himself to be held down by that sort of thing. He obviously put himself full tilt into everything in his life, and he had the love of an amazing wife and family to see him through. Know that he's missed every day. And know that the work you continue to do in his name is highly regarded and appreciated. Always believe!

Thanks, Dana! Thank you for taking the time to take us a little closer into Warrior's world! He was truly Awesome! So are YOU! I'm thankful I Finally got to meet him in September 2013 at the Santa Fe convention center spaghetti dinner for all those runners. That is my birth month, and it was like a birthday present being able just to meet him. I remember telling him that I originally wanted to meet him when I was 10 or 11 in '90 or '91, as my friend and I spent time hiking into a place in Trinidad, CO where it was rumored he was having a house built. I couldn't believe a childhood hero of mine would actually be moving into my home-town. I remember hearing rumors he had actually visited our local gym and locals were able to meet him. Well, it never happened for me at that time. I was so disappointed. Lol. Anyway, fast forward to 2013 and I was like a kid all over again. It was so cool and I got to share the experience with my wife. God Bless!!!

A relatively modest home gym for scuh an accomplished and recognized icon. I expected more for shoulder training since that seemed to be his strongest point. He had great taper and upper body so you immediately think wide lat pulldowns and endless benching, inclines and declines but didn't see any of that.
