The smell comes from d-limonene which can be purchased as a cheap solvent and I imagine makes a great Firestarter that's less volatile than naphthalene or hexane.

Well if the product maker says it's "completely waterproof" or "it lights as easy even when soaking wet" and you're reviewing their product on your channel then get a glass of water, turn on your camera, dump one firestarter in the water for a minute, then try to ignite wet and dry firestarters side by side. I mean if you're really reviewing stuff not just unpacking it.

It's paraffin and cotton, do you really need that demonstration? I think it's silly. Should I test every parameter? This is not rocket surgery.
