Cooter: We takin' naps, dad? Bruno: STIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICKS!!! 🤣 I have the US military version of the same (M.S.S./Modular Sleep System) and have been using it happily for a long time. I roll my bivvy bag, unfolded, from toe to head and was taught to never put it in the stuff sac with the bags though. Something about messing up the Gore-tex because it is sort of brittle. Don't know for certain, but I have always followed that advice because it's the most expensive part of the kit. Stay frosty, buddy, and thanks for stopping by my place. Much appreciated. 👍

No problem at all, I've always looked at the mmss and wondered how good it was, you should review it

@@RedBranchBushcraft It's in the plans, once things around here cool off a bit. It's 92*f/33+c here today and nights are miserably humid still.

I just came back from a disastrous camping trip where I used some of this kit. I own the full system, but in my infinite wisdom I only took the liner, the jungle sleeping bag, and I put it in a Dutch Goretex bivvy outer (which I have not finished modding so it doesnt close up) We did not expect to get drenched in the rain, sleeted on, and then the temperature to drop to -2c, where we were promptly snowed on. It was a very uncomfortable night, but I would say this. Just the jungle bag and liner, half covered with a goretex outer (which kept falling open in the night), was entirely acceptable a few degrees below freezing. It wasn't fun, but we were perfectly safe. (and I only took a 2/3 length German Army 5mm sleeping mat.) If I had taken the whole modular system (inner, jungle bag, sleeping bag, and fitted goretex outer) I would have been sweating bullets at -2c. This is supremely good kit, and one of the best purchases I have ever made. .... far better than my thermarest ... but that as they say, is a story for another day ....

Lol, lesson learned, I'm a cold sleeper so I always take a medium bag at least

@@tms1234567 No mate, the one I have is the old system which uses pop fasteners to attach to the Dutch Army Sleeping bag. You attach it all together and then doing up the sleeping bag pulls the outer gortex bivvy bag closed around it. Basically, if you JUST have the gortex bivvy, its all female pop studs, with no way to seal it up. Worked fine in summer and autumn, and it only cost £5 ..... but that was a reason it cost £5. Fair play though, it was a full size gortex bivvy for a few quid, I was admittedly taking the piss, and if I get my arse into gear to sew in some velcro it will be great.

@@TheWtfnonamezah fair enough not seen that type of bivi. To be fair the one I have and am speaking of isn’t too much better 😂 I only use it for extra insulation under a tarp so it doesn’t matter lol
