Whoa! That's an amazing video, Coach Justin. It is what I describe as "surgical" coaching tips, which pinpoint specifically what to do and what not to do rather than ok tee drill is good. I don't play anymore, but we are all guilty of just putting the tee there and swing, swing, swing. Excelente vídeo y muy buenas recomendaciones.

Excellent advice. I am going to share the video and emphasize your teaching points when my H.S. team meets up in the gym for the long indoor wait until the fields are ready in Vermont. I think it will help focus their tee work. So many of them just hack away, quickly waiting for the cage to open up, not moving the tee or thinking about what they are doing. I was never taught the right way, so it makes sense that they are doing exactly what I did when I was a kid. Never too old to learn. Thank you.

GREAT VIDEO! What tee do you suggest would be the best to use for indoor and outdoor use? Because some home plates are flush to the ground depending on where we play, or like when we go to the cages, the tee is off balance when placing it close to the plate. Also, what would be the best way to mark the plate for tee location? So kids have a general idea of where to place the tee after each set.

The green dot on the barrel? I am pretty sure I know what it is. If it is you marking the sweet spot you should do a video on that, especially for tee drills and batting practice. Great thing to for juniors to be able to visualize.

Hey coach Justin I was wondering if there is any particular way to put the ball on the tee?
@freakyfreshwater76806 жыл бұрын
Germain Ortiz does a pitch come in the same spot every time? Just throw a ball on the tee, it will go with solid contact no matter where you hit the ball.
@UltimateBaseballTraining6 жыл бұрын
Not really, no. You can place the ball on the tee any way that you like. One thing that is helpful to do from time to time is place the tee so one of the seems is on the inside part of the ball... that way you can focus on hitting that seam and if you do, you'll crush the inside part of the ball slightly below the equator - which is ideal for backspin!

Hi I’m 10and I love baseball can u make a vid on launch angle sry if I did not see one
@gmoney44584 жыл бұрын
I would suggest not worrying about launch angle, especially as a young player. Everyone talks about it these days, but you can hit a ball just as hard and far without trying to change the angle your bat comes through the hitting zone, in fact, many players that try to achieve greater launch angle just end up hitting more lazy pop ups and fly balls. Watch some videos of Hank Aaron's swing, one of the greatest HR hitters of all time. He had very little launch angle in his swing, but had great balance, kept the bat head in the hitting zone longer and created more ball exit velocity by hitting the ball squarely on the barrel.
@TheMayhem164 жыл бұрын
Don’t worry about launch angles kid, hit line drives,hit the ball hard and level swings. Worry about getting the barrel to the ball.. staying connected.
@superstuffyt8186 жыл бұрын
Great advice as always!!!! I have a hard with something sometimes. I need help with when I pull my hands back and take my leg kick I think that it’s slowing me down. Do you have any advice to make that part of the swing 1 fluent motion
@gmoney44584 жыл бұрын
Hopefully you've resolved this by now, but try less leg kick or remove it all together. Many players can generate the same bat speed and ball exit velocity by just keeping their front foot planted firmly on the ground and just rotate on their front foot, this can also help with over-all body balance throughout the swing. It takes a lot of repetitions to get used to, but it could help make your entire swing more fluent.

Hey guys remember when I said that Coach Justin is starting to be like Kris Bryant, yeah well actually I think Justin is actually starting to be like Josh Donaldson and yes, even if he doesn't have a beard like him he's still starting to be like Josh Donaldson, for example Justin mentioned if you get on top of the baseball when your hitting, then it's gonna go into the ground, Josh had mentioned the same thing with Mark DeRosa or that Josh mentions that he worries about his hips and not his hands because bat speed comes from your big muscles AKA your legs and Justin had mentioned the same thing when he made videos about bat speed

People who don't know baseball don't understand the value of good tee work. I admit that it isn't as good as live pitching but you can break out the tee almost anywhere if you have a decent batting net. I also use tees that adjust from the bottom of the strike zone to the top. Cheap tees give you the ball from the belt to the letters.
@UltimateBaseballTraining6 жыл бұрын
Totally agree! Nothing beats facing live pitching, but tee work is awesome because you can get as many swings as you want without needing a partner!

Does anybody have any tips for I keep missing the ball everytime I hit off the tee I can’t hit the ball
@TheMayhem164 жыл бұрын
Yeah.... only thing is Extension does happen at contact and through contact.... along with your wrist snapping through the ball... so your swings top speed gets through the ball... swing goes from zero to its highest velo back to zero... if your swing is 65-80 an hour... u want top speed through the ball. Otherwise pretty good video...👍🏽 remember hold your 90’s... if u don’t know what that means.... level up.
