EDIT (26.09.21): I did originally think that the Summerbee Bar was named after Mike Summerbee (club legend, that would make more sense), but was told it was named after Nicky by a City fan. Methinks he was yanking my chain! If you're wondering why a guy from Preston, who lived near Maine Road as a kid still became a United fan: go to 19:35 of the video. Congratulations! I think you'll have a great time. The traffic gets really bad about an hour before kick off. So if you arrive two hours / 90 minutes beforehand, you'll have plenty of time to eat, shop, drink and watch pre-match warm ups without being stuck along Alan Turing Way. Hope that helps?

Thanks! They say that it lacks atmosphere, but I disagree. When it's loud, it's really loud in that place. And City fans give as good as anyone out there. They don't have as many varying chants like United do, but even then it's not bad. I now have a season ticket at United, so I get to watch CR7 week in, week out!

Hi Sharon, thanks very much for your kind comments. Yes, I believe because of the sudden demand for City tickets, you have to at least be a member in order to buy tickets now. Go to the website, sign up for membership and as soon as they release the tickets - apply straightaway! I'm sure you'll have an amazing time!

That's a good question. I think throughout the course of football history, there's always been an individual or company who would over-invest in a football club to ensure success. Whether it's Derby County in the 70's, Liverpool in the 80's, United in the 90's, Chelsea in the 00's, now you've got Manchester City and Newcastle with very rich owners. Without some form of salary capping measure like they have in ice hockey and American Football, there'll always be someone who is willing to overspend and 'ruin' football, making sure there are always rich teams who win everything and poor teams who don't.

I believe you do now, yes. Before, anybody could but a ticket, but because Manchester City are popular now, they make you buy a membership first. There are some general sale tickets, but they are rare.

9:31 geez that's a lot of stuff not allowed to go in and some is hilarious and explains why people say City have a bad atmosphere. Those things are flagpoles airhorns and fireworks which to me is what i usually all bring to games of my local club FC Twente. Other things such as Guns and knives i can sort of understand but City has more things that you can't take into the stadium then at most clubs in continental Europe

I've been twice for a game and once for a tour My first time in 2017 in nearly got kicked out of the Eithad during a school trip to City Vs Liverpool just for standing up, there were 3000 Liverpool fans standing up all game! 🤔 My dad was with me because of my autism and it was nearly a huge incident as he told security to F off in front of our school group. Oh well I did go again to see the City 2-3 United game again with my old school which was funny as in my opinion it was karma for what happened the year before, then we had the tour the next day

Cool! I never did cool school trips like that. Although sorry to hear about your problems with security. I found that security there are a lot more pissy about fans standing up than at United. Most of the Stretford End stands up and the stewards do absolutely nothing about it.

As mentioned in the video, the away fans sit in a section of the South Stand. Unless you're affiliate with the away team, you won't be able to buy tickets there. Therefore when you buy a ticket from City, you'll be sitting with the City fans.

How do you get the tram back to the city center

Simply go to the north side of the stadium and past the club shop. There you'll find the tram stop "Etihad Campus". The platform "Trams to Manchester" is clearly marked, so it's impossible for you to go onto the wrong tram. See 3:25 of the video.

@@miscool obviously you're within touching distance of the players and manager as they arrive, that's why they built the tunnel club. But whether they stick around for selfies and autographs is down to them, and there's no way of absolutely guaranteeing that they'll interact with you or sign something for you.

If you also don't want to pay for parking (like me), anywhere around Lord North Street (industrial) or Iron Street (residential) should do the trick. You should be able to get in and out of Manchester with relatively little fuss from these places. Be careful though, because they were talking about expanding the 'resident permit only' zone to these streets and I've not been back this season to check out if this is the case. Good luck!

I think the procedure is that you pay for a ticket and when you get to the stadium, show the ticket office and they'll issue you a paper ticket to access the stadium.

No, you have to download it to your phone and the phone reads the code AND the NFC on your phone. Have NFC activated along with the ticket they send you and it should work.

It's good for the club, but the effect has certainly wore off. I'd never call for any manager to be sacked, but it's clear to everybody that Ole and his team aren't in the same class as Guardiola, Tuchel, Klopp, etc. If they had to replace him, the only man that would crack the whip on these guys (and they need serious discipline) is Antonio Conte.
