We had creepy crawlers. I never really liked them, and we got bored playing with them in a very short time. I remember thinking at the time about who would make a toy for kids with chemical heat. We threw them out not too long after buying them. We also had an easy bake oven, also terrible. It just took way too long for anything to cook. So, it sat neglected on the toy shelf and finally went the way of the creepy crawlies. Meanwhile, the Chinese have been attacking in all sorts of "subtle" ways. Tik Tok is among the not so subtle. It is far more educational in China than in the U.S., not to mention its spying capabilities.

I'm so fed up of companies needing to ban products because people and kids are not sensible enough to use them...😅😅 I have one example, i work in a store and couple months ago we had a parent call in saying "my child popped a squishy me toy and the watery liquid is all over my child, should I take my child to a&e, is the liquid dangerous" now me & my coworker were a bit stunned because we never had this situation in our 4+yrs working in company, we took one of those toys to read the instructions and it didn't say anything about the liquid being harmful (it's not even harmful cos we clean them up ourselves with our bare hands cos we have older kids/teens trying to pop them on purpose on shop floor) , but it did say that the toy is NOT SUITABLE FOR UNDER 18 MONTHS, this parent gave 12 (or under) month old a toy (who ended up put it in its mouth and bursting it) that's not suitable and when we explained it over the phone the parent said (and I quote) "I didn't read the instruction label, didn't think I needed to, I just took it off and gave it to my child" My point is yes I understand how some toys are not suitable for kids (eg being too hot or sharp) but it's also up to a parent/person to buy a toy and think "would this be suitable for my/this child?" "should I read instructions/labels beforehand? Most definitely"

It is somewhat amazing that my generation survived our childhoods. In the sixties, our playgrounds were hazardous, too. We played on concrete, steel and sometimes-splintery wood. In the height of summer, you avoided the slide so it wouldn't burn you. Some kid getting badly injured by falling off the monkey bars onto the hard pavement was no surprise to anyone. Bicycle helmets didn't exist. I wonder how many kids swallowed jacks, marbles and broken pick-up sticks, among other hazards. Girls weren't given cap guns; it seemed only boys were allowed to play with them, but all kids could get rolls of caps. We'd set them off by hitting them with rocks. Small dots of gunpowder for kids? What could possibly go wrong!

Why would a parent let an infant or young child play with the Pokeball toy from Burger King? They aren't meant for babies. Not that my heart doesn't ache for the parents who lose children, but really adults need to pay attention and be sure the toys their child is playing with (or had access to) are age appropriate. And if the child is delayed in some way that even when they would normally be able to safely play with a toy, are unable to, then they shouldn't have that toy. I don't understand parents that don't use common sense with toys and how old and/or mature their child is.

I heard the talking teletubbies dolls (esp. Po) were speaking phrases in a foreign language (the actress playing Po was Scandinavian); the children hearing the phrases didn't understand this though, and tried to interpret the phrases as English...
@jeremyriley1238 Жыл бұрын
It also has to do with the fact that with these older dolls, the voice clips will end up being compressed or distorted during development. (as that one Elmo book suffered from that, as when it was saying "Who wants to try?", the compression changed it to where it made it look like Elmo said "Who wants to die?"

yeah, I've played with those too and I had to duck down to avoid being hit with it when it came back cause the trick with boomerang toys is that your supposed to catch it when it comes back to you. all the while trying to not break a fingernail when I do catch it that is.

Dude, you need to stop saying "Pass Away". Passing away is something old people do, quietly in their beds, surrounded by loved ones. When toys (which are designed to create fun) kill people, they don't pass away... THEY DIE! People, in recent years, have started using that phrase because it sounds (in my son's words) "Less Bad". However, when a three year old child dies because of a greedy toy company who decided it was okay to cut corners, you shouldn't be willing to make it sound less bad. If anything, you should want to make it sound "More Bad". Other than that, I love the video. I guess it only concerns me because I have grandchildren in that age group. I just think that the senseless death of a child shouldn't be sugar-coated just to kowtow to the delicate sensibilities of a society that would make those toys in the first place.

Dear God. There’s danger in everything if you’re not supervising your child. Even KZbin is restricting the discussion of important real life issues, such as abuse and suicide, in case the little ones are watching when they shouldn’t. Aren’t parents responsible for ensuring that what their kids watch is age appropriate? Say ‘Hi’ to our nanny state. Great…..not

I grew up in the early 2000s but I agree, some of these are really stupid to be banned but some of them make sense. Like I can understand banning stuff that literally explodes but some of the stuff is the parents' fault for leaving their kids alone with them. Like the one aunt who left an infant in the crib with a toy. Infants should be in the crib with nothing other than a well fitted sheet. Not even a blanket since it could cause suffocation. A lot of items on the list are simply negligence and people not teaching their dang kids to not put stuff in their mouths ffs.

i think we had most of these toys at one time or another. and none of us we’re ever hurt. because our parents were smart enough to heed the warnings on the package. and even when we used the toys without supervision, we weren’t stupid. gen x forever!

yes, and I fully belive it was the caretaker's fault, hear me out. Why would you leave your 13 MONTH OLD BABY alone in their crib with a tiny ball, it's just irresponsible parenting. On top of that they sued the creators of the product, I don't think I'll ever be able to understand just how stupid parents can be, I mean, if you're going to be irresponsible as a parent then don't have a child in the first place.
