Let's give this guy the credit he deserves, one of the greatest guitarists of all time!

His autobiography is an excellent, excellent read! I’d really like to get an Andy Powers electric someday.

Andy is such an amazing musician and so funny on every interview - so smart and cool to listen to him on creating music. An amazing guitarist! Huge fan!!!!

Andy was always the guy that no one expected. Once you hear his work, it always ''springs'' on you, surprises you because there wasn't an expectation of him doing anything specific. I can't remember not being pleasantly surprised by anything he has done. Him, more than anyone else, I've heard praise from metal heads and country players alike toward, even people who hated whatever band he was with. That alone, to me, is a testament to his value in the realm of noteworthy musicians.

I was channel surfing recently and came across a documentary about Andy on Sky Arts - Great Guitar Riffs (Season 1, Episode 2 I think!). It was riveting and I watched it all. Andy came across as such a down to earth, interesting, clever guy and hearing about how he developed his unique playing style, etc, was fascinating! I just couldn't stop watching! He's so talented and maybe not as widely recognized as he should be for his huge talent and contribution to the Police - their success was definitely NOT all about Sting.

I love the he gets Eddie. It's not about the shredding, it's about his musicality. Song after song, built mostly of simple double-stops and triads, but placed in time well, played with fantastic feel.

Andy Summers uses pedals? I can only wish I look that good at… what is it, 81?
@MobiusBandwidth5 ай бұрын
music keeps you young. he's unbelievable. does not seem like he's 81, holy cow. he was playing with the Animals in the 60s, jammed with Hendrix, at one point was living on a beach in california, and rose to the top again. his autobiography is amazing.

Andy is being patient. I've seen him really lay into some interviewers for the sort of dopey, soft ball questions this guy is asking.

Sting was obviously very talented but also took a lot of credit for Andy's work.

I tell you what, musicians definitely live long lives as the music does something to them. Ok, not if they take heap loads of drugs though. Andy looks about 65!
