Very nice. Are you feeling tension or seeing line recede in order to know you need to set the hook? Or do they set themselves at that size when you’re taking line back in?
@FishingWithBradders Жыл бұрын
You can feel it, with a good quality rod you can feel every bump and knock, whether the bottom is rocky or silty. Watching the line/tip is secondary.

I’ve never had much luck on the canal I’ve tried! I’d love to have a chance to win something. Keep up the videos. It’s very decent if you to put up this prize yourself!
@FishingWithBradders2 жыл бұрын
Quicker we make it to 1K quicker that chance comes around!!! Canals can be great when they're fishing well, but the canal I have local to me is very tough a lot of the time, the water never clears and there are 0 locks on the entirety of the canal and no connections to any rivers or streams. No more than an inch of visibility most of the time.

Does a Texas rig always involve using a weedless hook rather than a conventional exposed hook?
@FishingWithBradders2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily no, for example in this video I am using a straight shank hook, but rigged weedless. You could use an exposed hook, but the nature of a texas rig means you are fishing on the bottom and often purposefully around snaggy areas and cover where fish are likely to hide. So an exposed hook is likely to snag.
@peteredwards15282 жыл бұрын
@@FishingWithBradders I've been experimenting with what I suppose you could call a micro texas rig. A countersunk tungsten fly tying bead instead of the usual bullet weight, down to a size #10 or #12 either ewg or conventional cheburashka style hook. The large eye on the cheburaska hooks prevents the bead from slipping down onto the hook. Combined with 1 - 1.5 inch soft plastics it's a great rig for wasping
@FishingWithBradders2 жыл бұрын
Yes I often do that on spinning gear if I feel the need to go so small or light, it's not something I'd wanna try in casting gear, far too light.
@peteredwards15282 жыл бұрын
@@FishingWithBradders I've not been bitten by the BFS bug yet, I suppose I'm old school, all my reels are fixed spools. I've heard it referred too as SFS in the USA
@FishingWithBradders2 жыл бұрын
@@peteredwards1528 bfs has its place, but its not always the right tool for the job. There are far too many cases of people using bfs in scenarios where it really isn't suitable, just to be able to say they're fishing bfs. If you haven't found the need for it, then you probably don't need it 👌🏻👌🏻 but it certainly is a handy tool to have in the arsenal. . . . What would the first S stand for?
