Watched 2 mins of this video and already know you know what you’re on about much more advanced tips than most U.K. lure lads who still think Texas rigs are brand new 😂 one tip I could give newbies to this style of fishing is to try fishing on calmer days as bite registration and staying tight on the bait is hard when wind is gusting

Hi mate Seen 4 of your videos and have subscribed. What's your setup Flurocarbon strength, line, rod and reel? Tight lines 🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
@luresonly2 жыл бұрын
The rod in this video is a custom I made myself, it's a rainshadow blank from America drained for walleye, it's a 3-12g 7'6". Awsome blank, the reel is a daiwa luvias 2500, the braid is dragon fishmaker which is super fine for it's breaking strain, 0.08, not sure on the flouro it would have been somewhere around 10lb
@mattjohnson91432 жыл бұрын
Excellent video, inspired me so treated myself to a new rod , got some molix lures and texas weights to give this a try. How long would you recommend the flouro leader to be ? Thoroughly enjoying your videos and looking forward to trying these techniques 👍
@luresonly2 жыл бұрын
I tend to use about 3ft, but as it gets shorter through the day as I break of or re-tie, I'll tie a new leader when I get to about 18"
@leafysfishing2 жыл бұрын
What type of weight would you use for canals ect and how thick is your main line and leader line? .. do you not use a bead? Thanks btw subbed
@luresonly2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the sub buddy! I don't like beads on a Texas rig mate I tend to fish quite subtly, natural colours with little sound. I'm not saying beads don't work I've just never used them and it's something else to lose In the rocks 😂 for the river I use a very low diameter 12lb for perch generally, 20 on my zander setup as I often get good pike. As for flouro anything from 8-12lb for perch.

@luresonly3 жыл бұрын
The bait is a molix stick flex for the most part, the hook is an ewg I think a gamakatsu size 2, the weight are 5g tungsten bullets from nine Seven tungsten but you would need 3g 5g 7g just to cover all bases

Do you prefer the Carolina or texas rig? And what benefits do you think each give that the other doesn’t ?
@luresonly3 жыл бұрын
I do fish a Caro quite often, I sometimes put a float stop between my hook and weight and make a kinda makeshift caro and just fish it with a couple of inches between, helps with floating lures sometimes, I'll deffinatly be making a video about the Caro too. I like Caro when the fishing is hard, with either creaturebaits or small shads. Texas is more lively and your more likely to hook up, Caro is more subtle but when the fishing is hard it can work very well
