Why do “Luxury” lines rarely have torsion suspension or independent suspension?

@@topofthemountainaction We had torsion axles on our Carriage Fifth Wheel in 2008, and independent suspension can be added later to fifth wheels with no issues.

Agreed. Something like that should have been in the 'wet' bay. I mean, why not? Mfg should make that change right away in newer models.

We like the water manifold, but would be concerned that loads shifting in the basement might damage the valves or tubing. Thank you for the detailed reviews - you do a great job!

The best floor plans are the ones with the living room up on top on the gooseneck or all the way in the back of the 5th wheel.

Same manufacturer as ours. They are ok trailers overall. Those propane doors never stay closed during transport. Been tapped shut since February and retaped every time a bottle change is required.

Looks like great quality construction and attention to details. Again as in other units similarly equipped, I love the manifold system for plumbing in the basement area, but why don't they protect it better? Any storage tub pushed in could easily damage the lower hanging lines in that manifold set up. Please hide it or at least protect it. Level up controls should be more easily accessed rather than set back in the wet bay. Put it on the driver side for ease of access while using it while keeping an eye on your truck. Kitchen oven hood is gorgeous for an RV. I don't like the living room area right at the door. Door should enter the kitchen area. You need to walk too far to get to the kitchen, and if relaxing in living area, you have the door traffic. For basically a couples coach, I don't see the need for the extra bathroom. I get that the master bath is private and way up front, but why the need for an additional bathroom other than to say you have one. This is a couples coach. Lots of buffet counter space way out back, but you need to walk all the way back there to get to it. Yes, it is very luxurious, but a poor layout. The best is the one which sells the most, rear living room, center kitchen with an island and big pantry, single full bath at top of stairs. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it with less appealing designs. I watch all your videos, JD, and I know you agree with me on most if not all my comments for this one. The autoleveling control system location is ridicules. Just for that reason I will never buy it! And don’t come with argument of an app to control your leveling! There are times when you need to access this control panel!

My problem with 5th Wheelers is you need a massive dually pickup to handle it. And then your poking around vehicle is the same big dually. Both very pricey and inconvenient due to size. This is why I don't foresee myself in a 5th wheel.

not sure why, but I do not think of luxury when the quality of parts suffer. here I am seeing vent fans that need to be replaced right off. we had the same type vent fans in our RV, 1971 Open Road. they were great a making noise and killing the battery. moving are....not so much. I see these in "Lance" and others who also claim quality. but may be I am just being a jerk because I want vent fans to do what they are in the RV for...move air.

I love red wood but There is a huge difference between this and a drv 3/1/4 side walls , copper water manifold , hung side walls with residential insulation and 15” stack frame and independent suspension just too name a few huge differences !

What a beautiful RV. The living room is just the right size and the KITCHEN, oh the KITCHEN!! SPECTACULAR. I like the colour of the cupboards around the stove, other cupboard colour was too dark for me, I would ask for the lighter colour. A half bath is great, even if one person was the owner especially if that owner was ME and I would for sure keep that ensuite bath for MYSELF!! Fantastic layout, double sinks, a walk in closet, a REAL walk in closet, with washer/dryer space, built in shelving, oh yes. Bedroom is lovely, again wood is too dark for me, lighter colour please. Thank you for illustrating my dream. 😊

What is your opinion on a reese revolution pin box type pin box? I’ve a ram 2500 Cummins mega cab short box and I’m looking to buy a 5th wheel. I know that most likely I’ll have clearance issue if I jack knife the trailer to park it somewhere, the dealer suggest a pin box like the reese revolution pin box, wonder if this could crate problem when towing the trailer on the road as the turning point of further back now. Appreciate the help and suggestions.

Hello, I’m gonna ask the same question everyone asks. I’m looking into a 2020 GMC Sierra 3500HD single rear wheel crew cab short bed. The truck is rated at 20K lbs bumper pull max. I’m looking at towing a 36ft stacker trailer at 17600 GVWR. The weight is lower then the max tow rating but I’m concerned about the hight of the trailer with high winds. Would I be able to tow this trailer safely if I have my safety features added on: weight distribution hitch, air bags and fox 2.0 rear shocks. Thank you.
