Ultra Magnus - TF Prime Beast Hunters

I saw this guy at Target today, and hid it. I picked myself up a Voyager Predaking and called it a day. I'm still debating either staying with the RID figure (which TBH, isn't THAT great, isn't show accurate, and just... isn't good) or getting this (which is the perfect usage of the mold). I wasn't certain to get it until now. When I go back, if it's still hidden, I'll get it. If not, I'll hopefully see it again. Awesome video!

I had the same problems with my Ultra Magnus with the loose hips and ankles too. I fixed the hips but, the ankles are loose at the pin not the ball joint. :(

Not sure if anyone else mentioned it, but those Minicon ports actually ARE on the Arms Micron retooling of TFP-RiD Optimus. All the RiD line figures had the additional ports added for the AM line. (The ports look better on some peeps than others; AM Wheeljack is absolutely hideous with the added ports, for instance...) Oh, and being a retool of the RiD Optimus is exactly why I chose the Beast Hunters Voyager one as my TFP Optimus Prime. I don't care for the mold of the RiD version, but, Magnus totally owns it.

You mentioned leaving the back panels out at an angle.. I'm pretty sure this is intended. When the panels are out like that, it allows the very bottom of the backpack to slot over the grey ridge at the bottom and holds everything in place.

Just saw the latest episode of Prime Beast Hunters and his alt mode is spot on! The previews for the next episode show him transformed in his truck mode. You only get a super quick glimpse of him, I had to pause my DVR to see it.

I forgot to mention that you have the chest miss transformed. there is a pice that folds down from the back of the windshield to form a part of the sternum.

basically he got a flight pack he never had in the show. also just me that sees that the crest"gem" is of center? there is wepon ports on the arms which lands as wvents on the side of the hood that are not in Prime and the rear view mirrors are diferent on Magnus as well.

Those grooves on the inside of the pack are meant to grip the back panels as well...

For some reason, loose joints is a serious issue with too many Prime figs. My RID Voyager Prime can barely keep upright, and don't get me started on Deluxe Cliffjumper, Voyager Megatron or the first Voyager Ultra Magnus. By now I know practically everything about tightening joints, but I wish Hasbro would do a better job at making the figures. The movie toys, by and large, were pretty solid in this regard.

Energon ultra magnus was a re-paint of optimus primespower mushroom, which could be considered to be worse than being a repaint optimus.

you know that ultra magnus in the beast hunters episodes is just optimus but with shoulder pads or what ever are on his shoulders and a different chest, same guns and some what of a same backpack/back

Like you would any other giant hammer. Though perhaps it's not so picky over who uses it in the universe of Tales of the Beast Hunters. Of course in the show the Forge of Solus Prime was pretty much depleted by the time Ultra Magnus got to swing it around.

I like how "animated" looking he is. In robot mode, he looks a lot like what you would expect to see in the cartoon. Not 100%. Just enough to know it is him. :)

Other than the Powerizer weapon, I really don't think that the RID Prime is that bad - especially seeing as how nowadays you'd have to spend 40 to 50 dollars to get an FE one...

I think he is more so taken from the takara AM-01 optimus because am-01 has those ports you mentioned that magnus has but rid optimus doesnt

Honestly, this figure would be perfect if it wasn't for the shoulder stack sticking out the back of the alt mode. But then again, the original Prime figure didn't have the best back, so we can't blame this guy.

It might be show accurate, but that does not mean he looks better. the PRID version was much better looking. The shoulder pads just looks rediculous and the powder blue is awful. I dont understand why they went with this version for the show.
