Hmm 50gsm paper! Love thin paper. I'm going to order myself a pack today. I do mostly writing when I'm doing todo's or memory keeping and thin paper gives the best sound when it's been written on on both sides

g'day, new viewer here. I use a similar system with Arnos prong fasteners (these are semi-common in Australia, not sure how common overseas...) to make an ad-hoc pocket notepad, just A6 scraps of all sorts of paper: bottoms of A4 sheets only half written on, backs of envelopes, engineering graph paper from my office, pages cannibalised from other notebooks, all roughly creased and torn to size. I remove sheets once they're dealt with, and add more as necessary. the constant changes in paper stock make the notepad kind of fun as you are constantly encountering something different. keeps things interesting.

I have used these prong fasteners earlier on in my career. They are a good option for some people I suspect. Personally though, I prefer these tags because it gives me good flatability. I'm also a big fan of scrap paper. Thanks for your feedback which I might mention in a future podcast.

​@@Flatabilityyes I'd agree - not being able to lay flat is a big limitation when using prong fasteners. I generally use them to keep printed reference materials together semi-permanently, not where I ever need to write on something. This notepad situation being the exception, because I use it like a reporter's notebook and the top page generally never lasts the day and is torn away as soon as the tasks are complete... The lack of flatability is not an issue luckily.
