Very nice Edward, it reminds me a lot of the 1st radio i restored a 1937 RCA-Victor model 87-K also a standing console with a 12 in speaker. So it sounds very similar as well. Thanks for showing it to us. Have a great day.

I have the radiogram version, I restored it a few years ago, it does sound nice, and all original finish. A real shame that there is nothing left on AM, I re-transmit FM, DAB or my own vintage programmes.

Nice old radio! My local radio museum that I volunteer for has a few of these 30s sets. Try tuning to Manx Radio (219m or 1368 MW) at night or Radio Caroline (about 462m or 648 MW) if you can get them. I listen to them here in Scotland at night on my modern portable or sometimes my 70s Marconiphone radiogram when the BBC hasn’t got anything good to listen to. They’re unlikely to turn off medium wave soon, especially the latter of the two.
