Before I saw your post I was about to say the exact same thing. What a waste and shame to even have such a vehicle to sit! The GD things were built to drive, that is the whole reason behind a Porsche!! Stupid. That car should be worthless like that. Make people drive these vehicles for what they were intended. Look at Jay Leno, the guy has probably the best car collection and everyone (car) is made to drive at anytime of the day. NOW that is a collector and how it should be done.

It's literally a museum quality Porsche, but I would have to take it to the track gently and on a twisty road with purpose. I know it's low mileage value, but it's worth, and reason for existing, is that it's a high performance AUTOMOBILE! Be careful, no hooning, no donuts, but enjoy the beautiful Porsche. ✨️✌️

I bought a 997 RS right when the Porsche bubble exploded. They starting being sold on Bring a Trailer for $250k all the way up to $325k. All of them were low miles. Everyone told me to not drive it, sit on it and sell. I said wtf is the point of owning this beast and just having it caged up in my garage?! I drove the shit out of it. I added 5k miles in 6 months. I will continue to drive it, enjoy it and use it what it was meant for!! Cars were meant to be driven!

I never understand the mindset of car collectors. If you have enough money to afford this car, you have disposable income. Just drive the fucking car you’re not going to get rich just letting cars sit. They actually lose value because gaskets, vacuum and fuel lines deteriorate if it’s not being driven regularly.

Previous owner of my car did 500 miles in 5 years! I have put 10,000 miles on it in 12 months! It needed a massive service to get it into daily reliable action again

Same. A few hundred miles over seven years. Needed to completely rebuild the engine. Many internals corroded from the short trips and parking the car with condensation in the engine. Drive it several times a week now with the new engine.

@@overbuiltlimited me too! It moves at a minimum of 5 miles 3 times a week. But also do a lot of 50 mile+ trips. Basically always keep it moving and it will be cheaper to run

I bought my 87 911 Carmine Red in 97. It’s never seen a raindrop and now has 90K miles. Rock chips, yep. Lots of fun at illegal speeds, yep. Some club racing, yep. $ Worth? Don’t care. She’s pretty, goes fast and looks good.
