Frankly I have also dropped the ball a little bit because the time and effort to make videos wasn’t justified anymore against the earnings and my focus also moved to other things so I haven’t been posting since last over two years as well. Who knows if I had continued producing content the channel would’ve become more successful. I am trying to get back to it though… we’ll see…

It's a shame that in a country as India with such an extensive and complicated rail infrastructure, there are very few avenues for Indian Model Train Hobbyists. Kudos to enthusiasts like you who make it possible to see authentic Indian rolling stock models. Excellent work!

Thank you very much and I am glad that you enjoyed it. Yes, building authentic Indian scenes are challenging and takes a lot more skills than, say making American or European scenes. You might want to take a look at Ranjeev Dubey's Kalka Shimla Railway model here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5eXg3Z7nMp4h5o - my work is nothing compared to his. :)

I think that Asia is a very underappreciated setting for layouts. It seems like everyone is doing America, or maybe the U.K. .
@TrainsandDioramas4 жыл бұрын
...and Europe. 😬 Yes, our part of the world is underappreciated in miniature art, especially model railroading. The reason is that there is no solid industry here. It takes a lot of skills and relatively more investment to build a quiality model or a model railroad with an Asian theme which keeps beginners at bay. And once they start investing their hard earned money in foreign stuff, it's not easy to shift. I started with American models too and I still build them. With advancement of 3d printing, laser cutting and etching technology, the hope is that it will get better for this part of the world. Fingers crossed. Thank you for stopping by! 🙏 Cheers!

I'm fascinated by Indian narrow gauge steam, but models are hard to come by. A few that are adaptable are made by fourdees.co.uk Perhaps they'll do something like the Shada-type Hunslet 2-6-4Ts found on the Shahdara - Saharanpur Railway one day. Who knows?

Excellent! This is a very informative and beautifully produced video. It's great to have an endorsement of PVC foam board from someone who has experience with demanding climates. I'm a former LEGO Show & Events specialist--primarily a display designer but the team I belonged to did much more than that. Our department designed the LEGO Imagination Center at Walt Disney World where the hot, sunny, and humid, Florida climate had to be taken into account when creating the outdoor displays.
@TrainsandDioramas4 жыл бұрын
Many thanks! Glad you liked it. :) Yes, PVC is a good substitute for Ply, however, in my experience it is only good for small displays like this one. The core of the PVC foam board is not that strong and I donn't think larger structures can be made totallt out of PVC, BUT with aluminium supports it can be a great alternative. It's light, versatile, easy to work with (that you can cut with a box cutter knife) and doesn't cause humidity related issues. I will stick to it for my future layouts. :) Thank you for stopping by. Cheers!

Quick tip: I work a lot with this PVC foam, you can use superglue (CA glue) to glue it. It's a really strong bond! If you try to break it, it will never break the glue, it rips out the PVC material. And I just use the cheapest no-name CA, it works absolutly fine ;)
