.smc stands for "super magicom", which was a floppy-based cart ripper back in the day. It put a .smc extension on the files. Generally, these files also had a 512-byte header added by the Super Magicom. Headered ROMs are generally have fallen out of favor and instead, unheadered ROMs are used instead, as the SNES Internal ROM header tells the emulator or flash cart everything it needs to know to be able to run the game successfully.

This romhack was mischievous, thematically consistent, and well crafted. I don't think I would want to play this, but it was entertaining to watch and there were some great levels. 5 Slope Fish, Carapace Crossing, and Nabana no Slopo were brilliant.

The song during "A Big Slope" is Arid Canyon Zone 1 from Sonic Robo Blast 2. It's a game I'd recommend everyone pick up and play once even if they typically don't like Sonic games since it plays more like an FPS gone platformer since it literally is. It gets a unique art style and physics engine by getting a lot of its original code straight from DOOM Legacy, but it's been changed so much it has become it's own thing by a long shot! Honestly I'd love to see more games utilize SRB2's soundtrack with permission, tracks like 2.1 Castle Eggman 2 and 2.2 Azure Temple could work really well in SMW romhacks, for example! Can you tell I'm a big fan of the game lol
