Actually she was inspired by Alita from Battle Angel (originally known in Japan as Gally). Both are very agile and employ an acrobatic fighting style focused on kicking and both lack memories about their past as an assassin. There are some other similarities I'm unable to recall, but Alita/Gally is the inspiration for Cammy.
