Claire, I’ve now watched a multitude of UTS Snowdonia 2023 videos, and I have to say that yours is my favourite. Superb vlog of the event!!! You came past me like a mountain goat on the first descent of Snowdon, all whilst filming. Hence I do appear in your rear-view-mirror for a few moments at that point. Kudos to you, not only for a great video, but also for finishing (something that I was unable to do as I was timed out at the last aid station).

Thanks Mark! Gosh yes this is defo a cracking ultra, I wouldn't do it as a first one, it's very technical and hilly, I'd start with something easier!

Ha ha ha I know, I recently did the Tissington Trail marathon and found the last 4 miles incredibly difficult to run so I was truly surprised to find myself running easily at those distances and beyond during this race. Just shows how hiking is diff to running in these long hilly things eh! Claire

Incredible video, incredible job!! I could feel the "death march" up the hills, and the thrill of the breathtaking scenery! And the lack of cares given about unfiltered water and new tasty treats in race day! 😂 👍You're an ocean away, but I've added this to the bucket list! That's my kind of race, though i imagine it's treacherous in wet/ icy conditions! Great job everyone!

Fantastic round up of the race Claire thanks for sharing. You just made me re-live the Watkin/South Ridge climb and the Moel Eilio descent. Think I had blocked those from memory but obviously wasn’t enough to put me off signing up for next year. Well done on finishing too, tough race!

Great to see lots of jolly footage..... looks like the UTS is possibly reverse of the Xterra Ultra Snowdonia (this July) - Snowdon is at the end of mine And look at the size of the water stations.... OMG compared to last years heat wave - water was running out every where and I used the streams too

Great video, thanks for sharing. It looks like you had the best run! It was slow going down the Pyg trail and the next section after CP1 on the 100K was very tough, I didn't think I'd finish at that point with so far to go from there. Thankfully the course on the 100K had a bit more runnable section from CP4 to CP5 where I stuffed my face with Chili which kept me going. No queue up Snowdon at 3:00am thankfully. I had to watch for cut offs as only had 30 minutes at most to play with. I managed to figure out from posts how to switch from Course through to my normal trail running on my Garmin Fenix 6, so it lasted easy through the race. Verry boggy between mountains but fantastic sunny day, all the views!!! I had one hour 32 minutes to spare at the end, so pleased with that. Well done for finishing the 50K, are you doing the 100K next year?

Wow, that's incredible Mark well done you! The 100k sounds very very tough, almost Bob Graham type category tough! Last time I did anything that big was 10 years ago so it might be a while yet... glad you did it though, fantastic achievement! Claire

Great to see what Snowdon actually looks like... I could only see a few meters ahead when I went up it (and at the top). I could see more going down Llanberis and that was lovely but you couldnt have had a better day for yours!

Rewatching a little bit happier, as I went back the next year 2024, and corrected my 2023 DNF.. still didn’t quite go to plan, due to not eating enough, and then getting stuck not being able to eat.. rooky mistake.. I’d even resorted to the idea I wasn’t getting get in time as I was having to walk from start of moelio.. but managed it thanks to the down hill in the last valley.. just have to decide 2026 50k or 100k 😂

​@@wildgingerruns yes.. I haven't even done one yet, I've got a normal 100k booked for next end of May a nice "easy" London2 Briton. To see if I can do it at all.. we all know UTS miles aren't normal miles 😂 I'm booked in to do uts25 next May, will be strange and nice to be finished a lot quicker 🙃 Did a very wet 47 mile TheLap last September, think you'd like that one, but I haven't done a 50 yet 🤦
