I had to spread the video out a bit as it was getting too long, hence the cliffhanger, lol. Thanks again, Cosmin!

There’s just something about that alpine air that is so invigorating. I would imagine that would be an understatement about the plunge into that lake. As always Adam, another enjoyable video. Looking forward to the rest of the trip.

Such a stunning location Adam. I thought the composition you found of the creek and Needle Peak was quite interesting and it was great to hear your thoughts and how you pulled the composition together. The second shot was gorgeous, I loved the light and the mountain line really balanced the image nicely.

Thanks, Andrew! I'm sure you run into this al the time while recording. Shots that you don't think are that great at the time turn out better than predicted and vice versa, haha. hard to get it right.

Funny you say to make sure not to forget about the foreground when shooting wide angle... I often tend to have the opposite problem - get fixated on the foreground and ignore the background :) Nice little composition there. And good to see you back up in the mountains again!!!

Greetings Adam from the eastern side of North America... The alpine dip sure looked refreshing... This time you opened the video up going forward with the drone rather than in reverse, personally I enjoy it both directions! Lovely compositions Adam in a beautiful alpine location. It appears some birds flew into the 1st image & is my favourite as I really like the way you focused on those rocks in the immediate foreground with a small aperture allowing for a superb background being Needle Peak... :-) Bill on the hill... Vermont, USA...

Thanks, Bill! The 'bird' actually clouds, almost looks like dirt. I did consider cloning it out but left it in. cheers!

You have a wonderful knack for covering composition without either sounding patronising or superior. Stunning images, absolutely gorgeous and I must say you looked happy just to be there. Even though I can’t hike up a mountain, and even on bad light days, it’s just a joy to be out and to witness those wonderful views the man upstairs created. Brilliant video Adam, just one question, what is your percentage for going back to places you say "I'll have to try another day." Even on this little Island I’m lucky if I make 20%, somewhere so vast and beautiful as Canada it must be less.
@QuietLightPhoto6 жыл бұрын
Thanks again, Mark! Was really wonderful to be up in the hills. Not sure what the percentage is but it is quite low I'm sure. You may have noticed that most of my travels I restrict to British Columbia. BC in itself is massive and there is no way that I'll be able to cover it all, Canada, forget it, too big. The areas with easier access I tend to repeat visits quite often, such as Golden Ears or sections on the island here. The great thing about a location such as Needle Peak is that I can get there quite quickly so it is repeatable with relative ease.

Hello Adam, Being a Scot I always thought that Scotland was the most beautiful country in the World. However, I think now, that Canada is likewise but bigger and has much more space and I can see how the poet Robert Service loved your country also so much ...
@QuietLightPhoto6 жыл бұрын
Canada is certainly bigger. I think that when it comes to raw wilderness Canada is hard to beat. I've never been to Scotland but from what I have seen it looks like a beautiful country in its own right and probably the wildest section of The British Isles?

Hope it was a good trip Adam. It’s frustrating when the light only lasts for a few seconds or minutes. I hear ya. 😂...I did really enjoy the first image though. I’ve been toying with getting a 16-35mm at some point. Looked like kind of hazy evening, maybe it was how the images turned out after post processing? Thanks for sharing.

Must be your computer screen, haha No it was pretty clear, especially with all the rain. could be the processing. Thanks, Diego!

Love the video as always Adam....the last image - did you get the star burst from the F16 aperture or another way (filter). I assume the former... again, thanks!
@QuietLightPhoto6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Steve! I generally just stop down to a small aperture. In this case I tried to hide part of the sun with the cliff, that helps if you obscure the sun a little to create the burst.

Awesome video and shots! I had that same L-bracket and it kept coming loose, are you experiencing the same thing?
@QuietLightPhoto6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! No, I haven't had any problems with the bracket so far, perhaps the type of camera?
@jipchen6 жыл бұрын
Huh, weird. I also have the exact bracket and a D850 though. Maybe something wrong with my L-bracket, or a combination of my tripod's ballhead and lateral friction / movement. Had to re-fasten it with a coin every day. Glad it's working for you! I have a Markins L-bracket now and it has a security bolt and a curved "lip" going over the front of the camera that prevents all movement. I was happy with Sunwayfoto brackets before on a Canon 6D and D800.

Adam, do you use/recommend a filter on your 14-24?
@QuietLightPhoto6 жыл бұрын
Funny you should ask. I have a Lee filter system for the 14-24mm. It's expensive and bulky and on this trip forgot to bring it, I mention it in the next video. Lee filters are great filters but the lens is a beast to use filters on for sure.

I wouldn’t mind taking ‘poor light’ photos and then bragging about them. But I know what you mean.
@QuietLightPhoto6 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, well every video that I make I am never happy with the images and always say so, often cutting that part out because they often turn out much better than I had thought. I think that the problem is being there is always better than the images themselves, hence the letdown. If I letdown my audience gently then there is no pressure on my side to produce great images, lol.
